The woman, Darla, who is the secretary for Dr Benson, was nothing short of abusive. I waited over an hour for a link to a video call that NEVER came. She basically called me a liar, saying that she believed the doctor had tried me again, when he hadn’t. She got angry and impatient with me when I explained that I missed the doctor’s early call accidentally. She snapped at me saying that I had read and signed a disclosure stating that he could call me 45 minutes before or after my appointment time. When the doctor called again, it rang only once. I had to call, AGAIN, & she said, “I’ll message him one more time but I am just the messenger, so if you don’t get his call, I can’t help you. Who says that when working with patients at a PSYCHIATRIST office?! The only call I received was one from her back, telling me I had to reschedule later this week. I told her I was out of my meds & she responded with, “Yes, you mentioned that.” I had a panic attack after getting off the phone with her.

Horrible doctor, very unethical. Would not recommend seeing him. He tried to lower my medication that I have been taking for years and also paired it with someone that can be life threatening. 100.% do not recommend him or his assistant Darla as she does not know how to properly document the google form. Spent 2 hours filling out paper work because she is unaware when it comes to using the computer.

He is very attentive to the medications you’re taking, and is clear about medications he won’t prescribe for your health. Dr.Benson put me at ease from the moment he spoke, he was very professional and he explained everything to me in Laymans terms . I was able to book a new patient appointment within a couple days and he does Tele health visits, that was a huge benefit for me personally situation. Also shout out to Darla you were very professional and the fact that you didn’t make me feel like I was bothering her to do her job and these days that seems to be a rarity. Great psychiatrist! Extremely personable and relatable. Doesn’t rush you and really listens. Some doctors can make you feel shut down, unheard, and not important and it’s so discouraging and can be detrimental when seeking help. I felt I could open and all that said was heard and addressed. I would definitely recommend him!!

I'm new to this whole therapy stuff and I was way more nervous than I expected going into my first visit with Dr. Benson Wanjohi. After a few minutes though, I felt the nervousness fade. I felt like finally someone understands what's going on with me. He had a level of compassion that you can't find easily these days.
