About Bernice Ik-Jang Mi Johnson
B. JangMi Johnson, PA-C, graduated from the Cook County Hospital/Malcolm X College PA Program in 2002 and is currently a Doctorate in Medical Science (DMSc) candidate at Southern Illinois University Medical School. She has been a dermatology PA for 19 years and is interested in ethnic skin issues, including hair loss and hyperpigmentation. She especially loves treating the pediatric and adolescent population, as well as patients with special needs.

The visit was a quick talk without any real description of what I’ve been experiencing and how to handle the next steps of treatment. I feel like I was rushed out without being heard or guided on how to improve my health in this moment.

Dr. Bernice listened to my concerns and addressed them all. She also made recommendations for me to see other specialist for other issues I was having as well. I will be going back to her. I agreed with the medication she prescribed me and the background information of my acne.

the provider saw me for only 2 minutes because she said they'll scheduled surgery for her at the same time. The nurse said she could address 2 concerns, the provider chose 1 of them and left right after. The nurse tried to escalate with a manager who couldn't do anything to help, but tell me to schedule another appointment. Obviously, I will not return.

Dr. Ik-Jang was lovely, prompt, and informative. I went for my first appointment for a body scan with lots of spots and dots, she carefully went over them and caught a mole I hadn't even considered was a problem. I was biopsied and out the door within an hour!

Really friendly from the outset, was patient with me, and answered all the questions I had about the diagnosis she gave. She was really clear and empathetic about explaining the prescriptions she gave me and why she prescribed them. She also took into account my ethnic hair and gave recommendations that took it into consideration which I really appreciated.

Great experience so far! Dx is complex, and so evidence of any improvement will be progressive. My expectations are positive— may request a biopsy (for my own assurance) with this particular dx, but, thus far, the office visit went well. Dr/PA-C is knowledgeable concerning dx, and empathized with what is (medically) being confronted. This is crucial, on a personal level.

I had the simplest and best experience here for my annual skin exam! It was so smooth sailing and she explained everything in great detail and even gave me samples and prescriptions for my skin issues. Front desk staff was very kind and sweet. Definitely allow yourself 10-15 min to complete intake questionnaires and such. I booked through Zocdoc and had zero issues. I even rescheduled my time the night before and it worked out perfectly.

Was in and out during allotted time - arriving early helps as I completed forms on Zocdoc but they had me complete more once there. She was attentive and proactive, from giving me coupons for better lotions to a prescription shampoo for my dry scalp that I didn’t know I had. Highly recommend!

The doctor was very educated and friendly. She took her time explaining everything and answering our questions. I would highly recommend her for acne treatments. The only reason why I didn’t give it a 5 is because my appointment was at 10:00 am and they saw me at 10:30 am. Other than that everything was phenomenal.
