About Dr. Beth Jaklic

Dr. Beth Jaklic is a board-certified colon and rectal surgeon with over 25 years of experience. She is now limiting her practice to colonoscopy and joining forces with Dr. Keith Berger to continue serving patients. Dr. Jaklic received her bachelor’s degree from Emory University before graduating from the University of Virginia School of Medicine in 1990. She then served for over 22 years as a general and colorectal surgeon in the Navy, retiring as a Captain. The doctor then performed her surgery residency at National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda (now Walter Reed) and spent the last 12 years of her Navy career mainly in Hampton Roads. She practiced at Naval Medical Center Portsmouth, where she served as the Program Director of the General Surgery residency. Dr. Jaklic completed her colon and rectal surgery fellowship at the University of Minnesota in 2000, and has made Virginia Beach her home ever since. After retiring from the Navy in 2012 she continued to practice colon and rectal surgery for more than 7 years at Chesapeake Regional Medical Center. She is now very pleased to be working with Dr. Berger to provide colonoscopy services for patients in the Hampton Roads area.
