He has received numerous awards for his hard work and commitment to patient care and was named a "Top Cardiologist" by the Consumers' Research Council of America. Dr. Malik is credited with performing the first angioplasty and coronary stent in Guyana in February 2007 at Georgetown Hospital, where he led his team on a humanitarian mission. Dr. Malik earned his Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery from Sher-i-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences. He completed his residency and fellowship training at Stony Brook University Hospital. His academic appointments include Attending, Department of Cardiology, Maimonides Medical Center, and Assistant Professor of Medicine at Mount Sinai School of Medicine. He is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology and the Society of Coronary Angiography and Intervention, and a member of the American College of Physicians/American Society of Internal Medicine, the American Medical Association, and an affiliate of the American Society of Nuclear Cardiology.
