Getting to know Binta Bojang
I am accepting new patients. I am Binta Bojang, CRNP, PMHNP, with more than 18 years' experience in healthcare, including both medical and mental health care. I hold a Master's degree in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing from George Washington University. I am currently accepting only adult patients and provide medication management for all mental health disorders.
What should a new client know about working with you?
I offer psychiatric evaluation and medication management for a range psychiatric disorders including Schizoaffective disorder, Irritability issues, PTSD, trauma, and OCD. The initial appointment is very comprehensive and it takes 30 mins to 45 mins. Medication is prescribed based upon client preference and the client is closely monitored monthly until stable on the medication. Follow up appointments are 20 mins to 30 mins.

More information on payments and coverage
Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.

Not sure what happened but booked the consultation and at the time of my appointment, she reached out to say that she was engaged with another patient and would be 20 minutes late to my scheduled appointment. The site she was using (GrowTherapy) had a 10 minute grace period for waiting. She then jumped on the call. Overall while she may have be a good doctor I found this initial interaction untenable. Will continue in my search.

This was my first time seeking treatment for symptoms and she was incredibly dismissive the entire time. She suggested that I see a psychologist, and I asked a clarifying question to determine what was the difference in support from a nurse practitioner like herself and a psychologist and she refused to answer the question, saying "that is not the purpose of this call. I am not going to explain the difference to you." Binta Bojang was incredibly disrespectful and even hostile. It was a very disappointing intro call from someone whose job is to provide care to others. I would never see her again.

I have never had a medical provider who spends half the time, thoughtfulness, and attention that Binta does. She gets to know me and connects with me and integrates that knowledge into a very personalized treatment plan. when i made my first consultation she asked what she could do for me, i said medication and coping mechanisms. she ignored me and moved on. then maybe five to ten minutes later she asked me again what she could do for me and when i said "i guess medication." she said "good because i can't do anything else"
i dont understand the point of asking if she can only do one thing and i also dont understand why she would ignore me the first time instead of telling me she can't do that. she's fine otherwise, she's your typical psychologist so she doesnt see you very frequently and you can email her with questions or concerns. it just really put a bad taste in my mouth that a medical professional would ignore me when she couldn't do something to help.
