Getting to know Dr. Boris Fligelman

After graduating from one of the top medical schools in the country, Icahn School of Medicine, I have been practicing psychiatry for past 10 years. I've helped people with a wide range of difficulties and across many settings such as inpatient units, emergency rooms, hospital floors and outpatient settings. I've also taught medical students and psychiatry residents in my work as an Assistant Professor at the Mount Sinai system. Before starting my own practice, I helped to develop a start-up tele-psychiatry company serving as an Assistant Director. Most psychiatrists are well-trained in using medications to help people. I believe that psychotherapy is just as important and in some cases even more important in providing the biggest relief. That's why I received additional training in conducting psychotherapy doing several fellowships, including at New York Psychoanalytic Fellowship. All this to say that if you are looking for a competent and caring physician who can take excellent care of you, I invite you to reach out. My goal and passion is to help; I'm here for you.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Once you book an appointment, I will reach out to speak to you on the phone to make sure that we're a good fit and get an idea of how I can help. We then proceed with confirming an initial evaluation that you had scheduled.

Ended our meeting with an unclear resolution. He said he would talk to his team and get back to me. After three days of no word, I sent a follow up email asking about my prescription. It has now been a week with no response. Absolute waste of time and money.
Dr. Boris was professional. good listener and answer my questions. He did not rush. I would definitely recommend him to family & friends.
