About Brenda Blackiston
Get to know the owner and provider of Working For Progress, Brenda Blackiston APRN. I began my nursing career in 2002 and became an LPN. Went on to get my RN in 2004 and completed my masters in 2015. I have spent my entire nursing career as an OB/Womens health nurse then transitioned over to primary care/substance abuse services in 2016. I spent five years in community-based healthcare then focused primarily on substance abuse in 2019. I feel very passionate and drawn to serving those with substance abuse disorders. I have found the care received by many to be less than compassionate, and I am here to change that narrative of thinking. Working For Progress is now servicing all of Delaware for substance abuse disorders, ADD/ADHD and Hepatitis

Brenda is an excellent practitioner. I have followed her from one office to the next and with the level of care she provides, I will not be looking for another provider for the foreseeable future. She goes above and beyond for her patients, and takes the time to get to know each patient on a personal level. Her compassion, empathy, and understanding nature truly makes her not only a wonderful doctor, but a remarkable person.

Dr Brenda, is one of the most caring physicians I have ever come across during my 26 years of addiction! She has guided me in the right direction slowly but surely and got me off of maintenance! This is a doctor that really cares about her clients and doesn't treat them just like clients treat them like family! I have personally called Dr Brenda on a Saturday when I was going through something she returned my call and help me through my situation! I am proud to say now that I am 46 weeks off Suboxone and clean! February 23rd of this year will be 2 years off of opiates And I couldn't have done any of it by myself but only with the help of her! FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART DR Brenda thanks for never giving up on me! And always have my back! You're amazing!

I absolutely look forward to my visits with Brenda every appointment, every since my very first appointment with her I have absolutely loved her she’s all about her patients and goes above and beyond to make sure we are all taken care of and makes sure to always ask how we are just as a person, and doesn’t hesitate to let us know if we ever need her to reach out! She was the first person who told me I was pregnant with my first baby and was there for me thru out my pregnancy and I can never thank her enough for that! She is the most amazing doctor I have ever had and so glad she is my doctor she is one of my biggest fans and supporters when it comes to my recovery and I can’t thank her enough for that
