What should a new client know about working with you?

Hi, I’m Brenda Sanchez, PMHNP-BC Welcome to my practice, Esperanza Mental Health. I am a board certified psychiatric nurse practitioner who specializes in working with individuals facing challenging life transitions and events, such as postpartum women dealing with PPD, entrepreneurs managing ADD-ADHD, adults navigating through depression and anxiety, and those seeking alternative holistic approaches to traditional psychiatric care. I also have a special interest in working with individuals who have experienced sexual trauma to regain control of their lives, restore balance, and cultivate healthy and loving relationships. I offer a holistic approach consisting of therapy, psychoeducation, natural supplementation, lifestyle coaching, and medication management when appropriate.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

MY APPROACH I have always believed that wellbeing goes beyond adherence to one treatment. Afterall, health is a complex relationship between mind, body and environment. I use multiple healing modalities to provide the best outcomes, and send you on a path of true deep healing. Lifestyle Coaching Exercise, sunlight, grounding, nature, diet, beliefs, thought processes, quality sleep, healthy relationships, boundaries, self care, acceptance, willingness to change/modify behaviors, discipline and much more are necessary actions to restore balance. Medication Integrative psychiatry doesn’t mean anti-medication — I believe in the value of medication while also exploring holistic methods to provide well-rounded support. If necessary, I can help by providing medication management to address underlying biochemical imbalances. Medications are prescribed with careful consideration of your individual needs to assist in minimizing unnecessary side effects. For extra support, we can integrate holistic methods to help you towards your goal in decreasing your need for medication. Supplementation If necessary, I will recommend high quality supplements based on your individual needs. These supplements are sourced from 'pharmaceutical-grade supplement brands' that adhere to rigorous third-party laboratory testing, similar to the FDA's regulation of medications. Comprehensive Support I use therapy to help patients foster self-awareness, set healthy boundaries, break negative patterns, process trauma, set new goals, improve communication, grieve and cope with illness among many other benefits. Empowerment and Healing Implementation of multiple positive strategies can only help reach your full potential as it offers interventions outside medication management to enhance all aspects of your life (body, mind, environment), not just treat the symptoms.
