About Brendon Bower

Brendon Bower is a board-certified nurse practitioner with years of focused experience in gastroenterology, specializing in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). At Oshi, when managing digestive conditions like IBD, Brendon views medication as one piece of the puzzle—nutrition, lifestyle, and stress management are equally vital for lasting remission. He believes true healing happens in the kitchen, during sleep, and through mindset, not just in the infusion chair.
During his clinical rotations in graduate school, Brendon was drawn to the complexity of gastroenterology—how the gut impacts every system in the body, from nutrition and immunity to mental health. Seeing patients with inflammatory bowel disease regain control of their lives through targeted treatment and lifestyle changes further inspired him to make gastrointestinal (GI) care his specialty.
Prior to joining Oshi Health, he practiced in both private and academic settings in the Baltimore–Washington region, managing complex IBD cases and mentoring trainees.
Brendon serves as a faculty member of GHAPP (Gastroenterology and Hepatology Advanced Practice Providers), where he develops educational programs for nurse practitioners and physician assistants. He is an active member of the Nurse Practitioner Association of Maryland (NPAM) and the American Gastroenterological Association (AGA).
A native of Ohio, he now lives in Maryland with his wife and two young daughters. In his free time, he enjoys golf, puzzles, model building, and chasing his girls around the backyard. An avid pet lover, he shares his home with two golden doodles, two cats, two axolotls, two leopard geckos, and a bearded dragon.

Making the appointment was quick and easy. I got an appointment the same day. My NP, Brendan, was very knowledgeable, put me at ease and went through my history and symptoms. This service adds to my gastro care - and I like it so far. I would recommend this service.

The NP I saw was AMAZING. Brendon listened to me and took the time to understand how much I was not feeling well. He recommended treatment AND a plan in case Plan A doesn’t work. I’m SO happy to have someone listen and believe me.

Brendon has been completely amazing to work with. He pinpointed what was going on very quickly, after I’ve been struggling for years. He’s worked with me on trying several different things and we’ve gotten to a point where I’m feeling well. He’s also so kind, and my visits are always a pleasure.
