“Everyone at Dr. Scotch’s office showed me loving concern. After making an appointment, I was contacted about a cancellation opening for an earlier visit, which I greatly appreciated. Signing in online was easy, and the staff at the front desk expected me, and were exceedingly warm and welcoming. My wait was comfortable and brief. The visit was smooth, orderly, and immaculate, but also warm and thoughtful, rather than sterile or hurried. Each person, from medical assistants, to Dr. Scotch, to check-out and scheduling personnel, took their time to fully listen to my concerns and questions, answer and explain information in a comprehensive manner, and treated me with respect and kindness. Instead of just another body on a conveyer belt, I felt truly seen, like I mattered as an individual. The team in this office is clearly up-to-date in the latest procedures and equipment, but also prioritizes genuine care. About Dr. Brett Scotch
Brett M. Scotch, DO, is an AOA board-certified otolaryngologist (ear, nose, and throat) and facial plastic surgeon who practices at the Scotch Institute of Ear, Nose & Throat in Wesley Chapel, FL. He has additional certification in sleep medicine.
Dr. Scotch received his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Nova Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Fort Lauderdale, FL. He completed his residency in Otolaryngology and Facial Plastic Surgery at Michigan State University.
Dr. Scotch is an adjunct assistant clinical professor for the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine-Bradenton in Florida.
Recently, Dr. Scotch was named a "Guardian of the Profession" by the American Osteopathic Association. He received the 2012 Community Physician Award from Florida Hospital Zephyrhills and the 2011 Physician of the Year awards from both the Florida Osteopathic Medical Association and the Hillsborough County Osteopathic Association. He has earned the Patient’s Choice Recognition Award each year since 2008.
Dr. Scotch served as President on the board of directors for the Hillsborough County Osteopathic Medical Society during the 2014-2015 term. With this group, he volunteered for a week to provide care to an underprivileged population in Jamaica.
Prior to private practice, Dr. Scotch served as a major in the U.S. Air Force Medical Corps, caring for military personnel, their families, and retirees at MacDill Air Force Base Hospital in Tampa, FL. He also served as the medical director of the MacDill Air Force Base Sleep Laboratory. Dr. Scotch was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, and the Meritorious Service Medal.
