“I had a truly wonderful experience with Dr. Brian Coringrato during my first virtual visit. He is incredibly patient, kind, and professional, with a calm and gentle demeanor that immediately put me at ease. He speaks in a soft, reassuring way while still being clear and easy to understand, which I really appreciated. What stood out most was how thorough he was. Even though I’ve been on my medications for some time, he took the time to carefully explain everything—how they work, what to expect, and important details I hadn’t been aware of before. I left the appointment feeling much more informed and confident in my care. He was also extremely understanding and compassionate when I became emotional while discussing some personal challenges. He handled that moment with such empathy and respect, which meant a lot to me. Overall, Dr. Coringrato is an exceptional provider, and I’m genuinely grateful to have found him. I’m looking forward to continuing my care with him moving forward.”

Getting to know Dr. Brian Coringrato

*After booking, you will receive a link via IntakeQ to complete required intake forms prior to your appointment.* I work with adults of all ages, with a particular focus on young adults, especially undergraduate and graduate students, to manage a range of psychiatric challenges. From anxiety, depression, PTSD, and ADHD to personality disorders and bipolar disorder, my goal is to help you gain the tools, confidence, and insight needed to navigate life's stressors. With training in psychodynamic and supportive psychotherapy, as well as extensive experience in medication management, I prioritize personalized care that respects your unique experiences, values, and goals. I earned my Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine, completed my psychiatry residency at the State University of New York, Upstate Medical University, and hold a bachelor's degree from Saint Joseph's University.

What should a new client know about working with you?

In our work together, you can expect a treatment approach that is flexible and adaptable, balanced with evidence-based methods. I create a space where you feel heard and supported, whether we’re meeting in person or through a secure telepsychiatry platform. By centering our sessions around open communication and collaboration, I aim to develop a treatment plan that incorporates your input, ensuring that every aspect feels comfortable and beneficial to you. My approach combines mental and physical well-being, recognizing that they are deeply interconnected in building a more fulfilling, stable life.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Your journey will begin with a thorough psychiatric evaluation, helping us clarify your diagnosis and explore treatment options that may include psychotherapy, medication, or a combination of both. I believe in taking the time to build a meaningful, trusting relationship with you, where you feel comfortable voicing any questions or concerns. Each session is an opportunity to build this partnership, addressing immediate challenges and equipping you with lasting strategies for emotional resilience. Beginning therapy or psychiatric care can feel intimidating, especially if this is your first time. I encourage you to bring any concerns to our sessions, as creating a supportive, understanding environment is essential. Finding the right provider is a crucial step, so I urge you to openly discuss your treatment goals so that together, we can craft a plan that feels right for you. Let’s take this process one step at a time, allowing you the chance to determine if this partnership feels like a good fit. Together, we’ll build a foundation of support that aligns with your vision for a healthier, more balanced life.

This is my first experience working with a psychiatrist. Dr. Coringrato is incredibly knowledgeable and has greatly aided me in the daunting journey of exploring mental health treatment. I would highly recommend his services.
I have been seeing Dr Coringrato regularly for a year now and find him smart, empathic, capable, kind, and insightful. I am benefiting from his care and would recommend hi to other paients.
Dr. Coringrato is the first mental health provider I've worked with that I actually look forward to our sessions. He takes the time to really check in with you and follow up on symptoms. He always makes me feel heard and does not diminish anything I bring up in session. He has wonderful medication management skills and is constantly encouraging me to speak up if I feel there is something that needs to be changed. He is also extremely responsive via email anytime something comes up. Something I specifically appreciate about Dr. Coringrato is his positive demeanor and ability to leave me feeling reassured after every session. I went through a particularly difficult year and received a very intense diagnosis. Dr. Coringrato has been able to make me feel less stigmatized and works with me to feel more like myself.
From intake to our regular appointments, Brian skills at listening and understanding towards helping me map out a plan and journey balancing my well being.
