Getting to know Dr. Brian Frankel

**The appointment times listed are for a free phone consultation, at which time Dr. Frankel will call you to determine if you are a good fit for the practice. Dr. Frankel does not accept insurance in his private practice. Please do NOT schedule an appointment if you plan to use insurance** Mental suffering is often neither simple nor obvious to others. My primary aim is to help alleviate that suffering, and I recognize how important a personalized and collaborative approach is in this work. Psychiatric medication and psychotherapy are powerful tools that can promote well-being and I enjoy working in both modalities to provide a tailored treatment plan as well as foster greater understanding and growth. After completing my training at Yale I have worked in multiple treatment settings, which has broadened my perspective and helped me be attuned to each patient on an individual level. I am Board Certified in General Adult Psychiatry and Addiction Psychiatry. I specialize in treating anxiety and mood disorders as well as substance use disorders. In many cases those suffering from addiction also suffer in the realms of mood, relationships, self-esteem, or self care and it is important to attend to all of these aspects. I am accepting new patients, but because of coronavirus I am conducting all sessions via telehealth. There is some weekend and evening availability. I offer medication management, psychotherapy, and addiction treatment services including Suboxone maintenance and safe tapering of benzodiazepines
