About Dr. Brian Gruber
Dr. Brian Gruber is a Sports Trained Orthopaedic Surgeon with a wealth of experience. He began his training at Newman University in Kansas, where he was an academic All-American in Baseball. He continued his training at the University of Illinois-Chicago for medical school where he graduated with honors and received Alpha Omega Alpha recognition. He completed a 5-year Orthopaedic Surgery program at the University of Michigan Hospital and Health System in Ann Arbor, Michigan. He continued on to St. Louis and performed an additional year of Sports Medicine Orthopaedic Surgery at Washington University.
Dr. Gruber has a wealth of sports related training. He has been involved with University of Michigan team sports, including Wolverine Football. While in St. Louis, he was an integral part of the medical team for the St. Louis Blues Hockey Club and the St. Louis Rams Football Organization. He was also involved with the March Madness Basketball Tournament and Team USA Development Hockey.
Dr. Gruber performs arthroscopic surgery of the shoulder and knee. His specific interests are rotator cuff disease and anterior cruciate ligament injury to the knee. Research has always been a passion for Dr. Gruber. He has been published in the premier orthopaedic journals Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery and Journal of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgery.
