Brian Richardson is a board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner who earned his Master’s in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing from Northern Kentucky University. He holds a bachelor’s degree in nursing and environmental studies from Eastern Kentucky University. Brian has experience working at Cardinal Hill, where he cared for patients with traumatic brain injuries and addressed the rehabilitative needs of those with acute medical conditions. He has also worked at the Ridge inpatient services, providing care to children, adolescents, and adult populations. His special interests include the treatment of depression, anxiety, and bipolar disorders. In 2007, he was inducted into the Sigma Theta Tau Honorary Society and is an active member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners.

It's always great with Brian. I just wished I could humanly control my stress level . What ppl don't realize , is that not everything like anxiety is clinical . I was told by a forensic psychiatrist in 1995 that my anxiety is organic in re due to an automobile accident where I sustained a front lobal closed head injury . The best meds prescribed for me were effexor xr and Xanax. For many yrs it benefited me for stress and uncontrollable nerves . But life stance says that they no longer prescribe benzo drugs . That was 3 yrs ago . For being on Xanax for many yrs it was easy to get off the drug . But the anxiety was back within 6 Mos. I think it is cruel just becos of my age not to remain on something that worked for me . I never abused that med . But other ppl do and that's why they have cracked down utilizing this med . Becos of the benzo and opioid epidemic. I remain compliant . However , I don't agree with the protocol . And really I don't have any option . It is what it is and I accept it .
