What should a new client know about working with you?

My style is warm, collaborative, and paced to what feels right for you. I work from a client-centered and trauma-informed approach, which means I follow your lead, honor your story, and never push you to share more than you're ready to. If you're a parent or caregiver, you can expect me to partner with you and involve the whole family when that's helpful, with a focus on strengthening communication and building secure, trusting relationships. New clients often tell me they feel met with compassion, curiosity, and respect, and that our sessions feel like a safe place to be themselves. You're also always in the driver's seat when it comes to faith. I offer optional faith-based practices for those who want them, but this is entirely your choice and never a requirement for working together.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

We usually begin by getting to know each other. In our first sessions, I'll ask about what brought you in, your history, and your goals, so we can build a shared understanding and a plan that fits you. There's no pressure to have it all figured out—we'll take it one step at a time. From there, sessions are collaborative and paced to your comfort. For individuals, teens, and children, that often means a mix of talking, skill-building, and creating safety and secure connection. When I'm working with families or caregivers, we may focus on communication, understanding each other's needs, and strengthening trust and attachment within the family. Throughout our work, I check in regularly to make sure our approach still feels right for you, and I adjust as your needs change. My goal is for each session to feel like a warm, supportive space where you can reconnect with yourself and move toward meaningful growth at your own pace.
