What should a new client know about working with you?

Welcome to my practice. Your first appointment with me will usually be 45 minutes to one hour long. There will usually be a lot of questions and the long appointment gives me time to listen to you and hear your whole story. I will: • listen to you talk about your concerns and symptoms • ask questions about your general health • ask about your family history • order tests necessary to help me understand what is going on • start developing a treatment plan that's right for you and suits your health needs, personal preferences, family situation and age. • prescribe medications, if needed. I may also want to speak with other health professionals or members of your family.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I utilize a person-centered approach because I believe in the independence that my clients bring to our sessions. I do not judge or interpret what my clients say, but I may restate their words to fully understand their thoughts and feelings. I want my clients to be comfortable and candid with me during our visits. I believe that my clients are in the "driver's seat", and provide an integral input into their treatment plan. I believe that my clients are all unique. Therefore, I work with them to develop an individualized medication treatment plan that will enable them live their best life. I encourage my clients to not be passive observers but to feel valued and actively participate in developing their treatment plan.

For clients that are in network, I bill the insurance company directly and the client is responsible for any co-pay at time of service. For clients that are out of network, I provide superbills which clients may use to submit to their insurance for reimbursement. I encourage clients to review their health insurance benefits, so they know about their out-of-network deductibles, copays and coinsurance, and how much reimbursement to expect. If clients have questions about their insurance benefits, I encourage them to reach out to their insurer to verify their coverage and learn about out-of-network benefits.
