Dr. Bridget Collins, MD

Psychiatrist
575 West End Ave, Suite GRA4, New York, NY
DISCLAIMER: WE DO NOT TAKE INSURANCES. PLEASE DO NOT BOOK IF YOU'RE PLANNING ON USING INSURANCES I am a board certified psychiatrist with a broad range of skills and special expertise in consultation-liaison (C-L) psychiatry, which focuses on the mental health needs of patients with co-occurring medical problems such as cancer, HIV and COVID-19. I have helped patients cope with everything from depression, anxiety and relationship problems to "brain fog" from chemotherapy. I offer both therapy and medication management, either alone or in combination, as appropriate for each patient. I strive to be both a good listener and a skilled expert who collaborates with patients to problem solve in the real world. I have an eclectic background for an MD, having majored in literature at Yale, earned an MBA at Columbia and worked in finance for many years before medical school, residency and fellowship training. Before entering private practice, I was Chief of Psychiatry and Director of the C-L Psychiatry Service at LIJ Forest Hills Hospital, part of the Northwell Health system. I have had the privilege of helping patients from a wide variety of backgrounds, and I strive to be inclusive and welcoming to patients of all races, ethnic and cultural groups, sexualities and gender identities. I am here to help and I would love to hear from you. I see patients both in person and on video (face-to-face is strongly encouraged for the initial consultation).

What should a new client know about working with you?

Prior to confirming your first appointment, I will contact you by phone for a brief conversation to make sure that my practice is a good fit for your needs. My initial appointments are scheduled for 90 minutes to allow enough time for a comprehensive intake and initial diagnosis. After the first consultation, we will mutually decide on a plan for ongoing treatment. Some patients will do best with therapy only, others will benefit from both therapy and medication management.
