About Dr. Bridget Metzo
Bridget Metzo, DPM is a board certified podiatric physician and surgeon practicing in Joliet and Lockport, IL.
Dr. Metzo’s extensive education began at the University of Scranton, where she received a Bachelor of Science in Biology in 2011. She also attended Wilkes University in Wilkes-Barre, PA, and graduated in 2014 with a Master of Science in Bioengineering. Dr. Metzo went on to earn her Doctorate in Podiatric Medicine four years later at Dr. William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine, Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science in Chicago, IL. Her postgraduate training included a residency in Podiatric Medicine and Surgery with Reconstructive Rearfoot/Ankle Surgery at University Hospital in Newark, NJ. Dr. Metzo served as Chief Resident for the final year of this 3-year podiatric residency program.
Dr. Metzo is on staff at Silver Cross Hospital in New Lenox and Ascension St. Joseph Medical Center in Joliet. She is board certified by the American Board of Podiatric Medicine, and board qualified by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery. The front was waiting for me, greeted me in a friendly manner. Handed me forms I needed to fill out. As soon as I was done I was escorted to the examination room. Dr. Metzo greeted me pleasantly. I explained my condition an she proceeded to take care of it right away. She explained what she did and what I should do to take care of it while it healed. Overall e peril was very good.

Bridget did not properly explain the procedure she performed.
I am autistic and suffer from severe PTSD. I appreciate clear communication especially prior to painful procedures. I felt like she minimized my pain by comparing the steroid injection to any other shot which is unprofessional and invalidates my experience and pain perception. Just like most doctors and people in general treat neurodivergent people.
