What should a new client know about working with you?

I believe trust is the foundation to any relationship, weather professional or personal. I will work collaboratively with you to find the best treatment options that will allow you more freedom from the mental health issues you have been coping with. I am respectful and compassionate. I care about my patients lives and will make sure that you always feel comfortable with the plan. I am open and also very grounded in evidence based treatment.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I like to gather as much information as possible in the initial intake visit. The initial visit will be about gathering information and checking screeners (questions patients answer) to help confirm and validate diagnosis. I rely on both interview and screeners, and at times labs to do a full and complete analysis of the symptoms and mental health issues that the patient is currently dealing with. The initial intake visit will be 90 minutes so patients should prepare with any medications they are currently taking. Past mental health diagnosis and symptoms they have had in the past and currently. The initial visit will be full of direct succinct questions and answering to gain more information. If a patient is a minor ( I see patients 13 yrs and older) the parents will need to be there for part of the session and I will also interview the patient on their own for a period of time in the interview. Understanding that 90 minutes is a while please feel free to bring a drink or anything that would make you comfortable such as food, a significant other etc. But I like to interview a patient on their own and can add a spouse, parent, etc as the need arises. For adolescents and teens under 18 I will need parent permission to treat so your parent must come with you to the visit and plan to go over the plan of care etc. I offer some 20 minute medication follow ups as well as some 30 minute medication follow ups depending on patient need/ stability etc. In those visits we will go over your medications, side effects etc. When a patient is newer I like to do more frequent visits and 30 minute visits until we are certain that the medications are working well and go over things more in depth. The 20 minute visits are for patients that are stable on medications doing well and simply need refills. I offer a half medication and therapy appointment. We will talk about medication side effects etc. Then have therapy for 30-40 min Note* these visits can cost more
