What should a new client know about working with you?

First and foremost, I believe you are the expert on your own life. My job is to be your guide and a supportive partner, not to tell you what to do. Therapy is a collaborative journey, and we will work together to set individualized goals for each session and for your overall progress. My therapeutic style is direct, yet always open and encouraging. My primary approach is experiential because I believe in the power of the here-and-now and truly care about your experience in therapy. I'm also trained in and will pull from other effective methods like Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), DBT, and Narrative Therapy to create a personalized plan tailored specifically for you. What We'll Work On As an LMFT, I use a systemic lens to help you see how past experiences and relationships might be influencing you today. I'm passionate about trauma work and helping clients who have navigated significant life events or are managing long-term mental health challenges. If you're looking for a safe, non-judgmental space to process your past, you've found it. As a self-proclaimed nerd who loves anime and video games, I understand the importance of finding a space where you can be your authentic self. My practice is a welcoming and affirming space for all lifestyles and identities. My goal is to ensure you walk away from each online session with something tangible—a new coping skill, a fresh perspective on a problem, or simply feeling a little bit lighter than when you started.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

What to Expect From Our Sessions I want our time together to feel both purposeful and authentic. Our work generally unfolds in a three-step process designed to ensure you get the most out of every session. Phase 1: Getting to Know You First, we focus on building a strong foundation. This is where I get to know you—not just the challenges you're facing, but your story, your strengths, your values, and your world. I'll ask open-ended questions and listen without judgment as you share what feels important. As an LMFT, I'm especially interested in the systems that have shaped you, including family, work, and community. We'll explore the patterns that brought you here and understand how past experiences might be influencing you today. Phase 2: Mapping Our Goals Once we have a better understanding of your landscape, we'll shift to a more goal-oriented approach. I believe you are the expert on your own life, so we'll work together to define what you truly want to achieve. These won't be generic goals; they'll be highly individualized and tailored to what is most important to you. Think of this as creating a personalized map for our journey together. Having clear goals gives our sessions direction and purpose, ensuring we're always moving toward what matters most to you. Phase 3: Putting in the Work With our goals in place, we'll dive into the work of achieving them. This is where my experiential approach really shines. I care about the experience you have in our sessions, so we'll work with the emotions and thoughts that come up in the moment. I'll draw on approaches like Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Narrative Therapy, and DBT to help you explore different perspectives, build new coping skills, and find new ways of being. You can expect to walk away from each session with something tangible—a new insight, a practical skill, or at the very least, not carrying the weight you came in with.
