Brooke Jackson, M.D. was born and raised in Washington. DC. She is a graduate of Wellesley College and Georgetown University Medical School. Upon completion of her internship at University of Chicago and dermatology residency training at Henry Ford Hospital, Dr. Jackson became the first African-American dermatologist to be awarded laser fellowship training at Harvard where her interests and research helped to pioneer the uses of lasers In ethnic skin. Dr. Jackson completed a second fellowship in skin cancer surgery (Mohs) at Baylor College of Medicine In Houston, Texas then joined the staff of the prestigious MD Anderson Cancer Center where she founded the Mohs Surgery Unit and served as it's director until relocating to the Chicago area. She is currently a Clinical Assistant Professor at Northwestern University.
As a board-certified Dermatologist and Dermatological Surgeon, Dr. Jackson is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology as well as the American College of Mohs Micrographic Surgery and Cutaneous Oncology and the American Society of Dermatologic Surgery. She has published numerous articles, book chapters and a CD relevant to her specialty. Because of her research interests and training. Dr. Jackson Is considered an expert in the field of laser surgery and lectures nationally on the use of lasers and cosmetic procedures in ethnic skin. In addition to laser surgery, Dr. Jackson's clinical Interests and expertise include the prevention and treatment of skin cancer.
Dr. Jackson served as the National treasurer of the Dermatology section of the National Medical Association.
An avid runner and budding tri-athelete, Dr. Jackson has completed 10 marathons and 7 triathlons.
