Dr. Bruce Oran is certified by the American Board of Emergency Medicine and a Fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians. He earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from A.T. Still University, Kirksville. He completed residencies in Emergency Medicine at Morristown Memorial Hospital, Internal Medicine at Bridgeport Hospital, and Pediatrics at Ohio State University's Nationwide Children's Hospital. He also completed mini-residencies in Occupational Medicine through Rutgers University and Women's Health through the Department of Veterans Affairs. Dr. Oran was among the earliest group of physicians trained in Medical Acupuncture by Joseph Helms, MD, who accompanied Richard Nixon to China at the UCLA School of Medicine. Dr. Oran began his emergency medicine career with Emergency Medical Associates in New Jersey. He was the first Medical Director for Corporate Health Services at the investment bank Goldman Sachs following the 2001 World Trade Center attack. In that role, he established an internal employee health service and served as medical escort for international travel for the Board of Directors and C-suite executives. During this time, he was a key member of the Business Continuity Team, helping to formulate Goldman Sachs' corporate response to epidemic Avian Flu and, along with the Wellness Division within HCM, conducted drills and developed medical preparations against future terrorist incidents targeting the firm. Following his tenure at Goldman Sachs, Dr. Oran proudly served as Chief of Emergency Medicine at the James J. Peters VA Medical Center in the Bronx, New York. Concurrently, he was Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. He is currently a Clinical Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine at the Ronald O. Perelman Center for Emergency Services, NYU School of Medicine, and an Attending Physician in the Emergency Medicine Observation Unit and Virtual Urgent Care Unit.
