After completing a residency in internal medicine in Columbus Ohio, Dr. Stein completed a fellowship in rheumatology at Long Island Jewish Medical center.
Dr. Stein worked in a large group practicing rheumatology before deciding to open Floral Park Arthritis P.C where he has been currently practicing for approximately 10 years.
Dr. Stein decided to open his own practice so he could spend ample time with patients and provide them with quality care. He takes special interest in the diagnosis and management of rheumatoid arthritis, Lupus, Gout, Fibromyalgia, Osteoarthritis, myositis and osteoporosis. In addition, he has a strong interest in treating tendonitis, bursitis and sport injuries.

Felt like just a number with this dr. Wasn’t answering my questions mentioning to see another specialist yet what he specializes in is what I was asking about.

-As per Lupus support groups that I am part of and feedback from my Internist and Social Worker,, Rheumatologists should be able to provide referrals for a nutritionist or a reproductive endocrinologist. This was not the case with this doctor. I will have to schedule another appointment with a different Rheumatologist. This was a waste of insurance money and time.
-He got annoyed with answering questions. You will be rushed during the appointment.
-Also, bloodwork and how a person feels are two completely different things. For all Lupus patients, make sure you book an appointment with a doctor who listens and keep track of your symptoms and what you are eating to understand your body more and what is causing the flares.
-Since 1/08/2021 I’ve been waiting for this doctor to approve a Prior Authorization for my Plaquenil prescription. On my second appointment, a couple of days ago I had to remind him that I was pending my medication. Then, he submitted it on a Friday, and the following day the insurance approved it. He even said he would have the pharmacy he uses mail it to me and that has yet to happen. I will have to call and ask them to send over the prescription to my nearest pharmacy. Be careful when booking appointment, especially if you need your medication ASAP and expect the proper time and feedback from a professional.
