Psychiatrist
1330 N White Chaple Blvd,, Suite 130, Southlake, TX
Dr. Bryan Kromenacker is an interventional psychiatrist focused on helping patients who continue to struggle with depression, anxiety and other mental health conditions despite prior treatment. His approach is individualized, thoughtful, and centered on understanding each patient’s symptoms, treatment history, and goals before recommending a plan of care. Interventional psychiatry is an approach that goes beyond traditional medication management by incorporating advanced, evidence-based treatment options for patients who may need more than medications alone. The clinic’s primary emphasis is Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS), a noninvasive treatment that uses magnetic stimulation to target areas of the brain involved in mood regulation. Compassion Neurohealth also offers psychiatric medication management and Spravato® (esketamine) for appropriate patients. This allows Dr. Kromenacker and the clinical team to consider multiple treatment options and develop a plan based on each patient’s individual needs. Remarkably this clinic uses HALO, Compassion Neurohealth’s proprietary brain-network analysis platform, to provide additional information that may support the clinical team’s understanding of an individual patient’s brain-network activity and treatment planning. We prefer to measure the organ before we treat it. Dr. Kromenacker believes patients should understand their treatment options and be active participants in their care. His goal is to provide a supportive environment where patients feel heard, respected, and confident that their treatment plan has been carefully considered. If you have been struggling with depression, have not achieved the results you hoped for with medication, or are interested in learning whether TMS, Spravato, or another treatment approach may be right for you, Dr. Kromenacker and the Compassion Neurohealth team welcome the opportunity to meet with you.

What should a new client know about working with you?

When you begin working with Dr. Bryan Kromenacker and the Compassion Neurohealth team, you can expect a thoughtful, personalized approach to care. We understand that many patients come to us after trying medications, therapy, or other treatments without getting the relief they hoped for. Our goal is to understand what you have been through, what has and has not worked, and what you want to achieve. Dr. Kromenacker practices interventional psychiatry, which means he considers both traditional psychiatric treatments and advanced treatment options when appropriate. These may include medication management, Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS), and Spravato® (esketamine). TMS is a major focus of our clinic, particularly for patients with depression who have not responded adequately to previous treatments. Your first visit is about understanding you, not simply selecting a treatment. Dr. Kromenacker reviews your symptoms, medical and psychiatric history, prior medications and therapies, and treatment goals. He will explain the available options, answer your questions, and work with you to develop a plan that makes sense for your individual situation. At Compassion Neurohealth, we also emphasize measurement and objective information when it may help guide care. Our team may use HALO, our proprietary brain-network analysis platform, to provide additional information for the clinical team when appropriate. Most importantly, we want patients to feel heard, respected, and involved in every decision. There is no one-size-fits-all approach to mental health treatment, and we believe you should understand both the potential benefits and limitations of your options before moving forward.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Our process begins with an EEG and HALO analysis. HALO is Compassion Neurohealth’s proprietary brain-network analysis platform, which analyzes the patient’s EEG and produces an individualized report for the clinical team. One of the things that makes the Compassion Neurohealth experience different is that our patients help give their psychiatrist an additional source of individualized information before treatment decisions are made. Dr. Bryan Kromenacker reviews the HALO report alongside a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation that includes your symptoms, treatment history, current medications, medical background, prior therapies, and goals for care. HALO does not replace the psychiatric evaluation or the physician’s clinical judgment. Instead, it provides additional information that Dr. Kromenacker can consider as he develops an individualized treatment plan with you. Depending on your needs, that plan may include medication management, Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS), Spravato® (esketamine), or a combination of approaches. TMS is a major focus of our clinic, particularly for patients who have not achieved adequate improvement with previous treatments. If treatment is started, we continue to monitor your progress throughout care. For patients undergoing TMS, HALO may also be repeated during and after treatment to provide the clinical team with additional information about changes in brain-network activity. Our goal is to combine careful psychiatric evaluation, objective information, and ongoing measurement so that treatment is thoughtful, personalized, and collaborative. You should understand why a treatment is being recommended, what to expect, and what other options may be available.

More information on payments and coverage

Compassion Neurohealth works with a variety of insurance plans, including TRICARE, Medicare, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Aetna, United Healthcare and other commercial plans. Coverage can vary based on your specific plan, diagnosis, treatment history, and the service being considered. Before treatment begins, our team can help verify your insurance benefits and explain any applicable copays, deductibles, coinsurance, or prior authorization requirements. Some treatments, including TMS and Spravato® (esketamine), may require documentation of prior treatments or insurance approval before care can begin. We also offer self-pay options for patients who are uninsured, out of network, or prefer to pay directly for services. Because insurance benefits differ from plan to plan, we encourage patients to contact our office so we can review their coverage and help them understand their expected financial responsibility before treatment whenever possible.
