What should a new client know about working with you?

I am trained as an integrative and functional psychiatric provider. Integrative and functional psychiatry look at the whole person—mind, body, and lifestyle—rather than just focusing on symptoms. This approach explores underlying causes of mental health challenges, such as stress, nutrition, sleep, or hormonal imbalances, to create personalized care plans. It blends traditional treatments like therapy and medication with evidence-based tools like mindfulness, nutrition, and lifestyle changes to support long-term healing and well-being. I focus on addressing root causes rather than only trying to mitigate symptoms to meet each client’s unique needs. My approach combines psychotherapy, medication management, laboratory work, and tools like mindfulness, nutrition, and lifestyle modifications. Together, we’ll focus on building resilience, navigating challenges, and fostering meaningful progress toward improved well-being. I see our work as a partnership, where open communication is key. I encourage clients to share their experiences, preferences, and concerns, as this helps tailor care to their goals. Healing is a journey, and I invite clients to approach it with patience and curiosity. Sustainable change takes time, and I am here to guide, support, and celebrate each step forward. My goal is to create a path toward balance and thriving, empowering clients to achieve greater health and fulfillment.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

My typical process begins with a comprehensive initial assessment where we explore your mental and physical health history, current concerns, and goals. During this session, I’ll ask about various aspects of your life, including physical health, sleep, nutrition, relationships, and stressors, source of purpose and meaning, and trauma history to gain a holistic understanding of your needs. This allows us to collaboratively create a personalized plan that typically includes psychotherapy, further assessment with lab work, lifestyle changes, and use of supplements. I incorporate medication alongside other tools in treatment, aiming to use the smallest effective amount necessary to support meaningful progress. At the end of our first appointment I will explain my conceptualization and areas of concern for us to work toward addressing. I see most of my clients on a monthly basis. Some of my clients see me biweekly or weekly.
