She specializes in depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety, schizoaffective disorder, and co-occurring substance use, and takes a trauma-informed, collaborative approach to care. What should a new client know about working with you?

I believe mental health care works best when you feel heard, comfortable, and included in the decisions about your care. At Empowered Family Solutions Behavioral Health, appointments are never meant to feel rushed or like you are just another name on the schedule. I take the time to really understand what is going on, what is getting in the way of everyday life, and what you or your family hope will improve. New patient appointments are 90 minutes so we have time to look at the whole picture and create a plan together. I work with children ages 8 and older, teens, and adults with concerns including ADHD, anxiety, depression, mood and behavioral challenges, sleep difficulties, and more. Medication may be one tool we consider, but treatment is always individualized to the person in front of me. My goal is simple: to help you or your child feel better, function better, and find solutions that make everyday life a little easier.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I start with a comprehensive 90-minute initial evaluation so we have plenty of time to talk about what is going on, your history, current concerns, and what you hope to get out of treatment. For children and teens, I work closely with both the patient and their family to understand what is happening at home, at school, and in everyday life. From there, we work together to create an individualized treatment plan. This may include medication, lifestyle strategies, collaboration with therapists or other providers, and additional resources when needed. Follow-up appointments are at least 30 minutes, giving us time to check in, discuss what is working, make adjustments, and address new concerns. I understand that life can be busy, so I offer flexible scheduling options, including in-person and telehealth appointments. Established clients also have access to an easy, secure communication platform, making it simple to reach out with questions or concerns between visits. My approach is collaborative and practical. I want you to understand your options, feel comfortable asking questions, and have an active role in decisions about your care or your child’s care.
