Callie O'BARR, APRN

Mental Health Nurse Practitioner
9800 4th St N, Ste 310, St. Petersburg, FL
Callie O’Barr is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner dedicated to providing compassionate, evidence-based care to children, adolescents, and adults (age 5 and older). She treats conditions including anxiety, depression, PTSD, Bipolar Disorder, ADHD, OCD, and personality disorders. Callie operates from the belief that you are the most important member of your treatment team and specializes in truly collaborative care. Her approach to care is rooted in the principle that effective treatment is a shared journey, not a prescription. She is committed to incorporating your personal goals, values, and preferences into a personalized treatment plan tailored to your comfort level. This includes exploring non-medication options and evidence-based supplements alongside traditional pharmacological treatments. Callie’s diverse career journey has uniquely prepared her for this role. Her path began with her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), which she earned Cum Laude from Troy University in 2013. After gaining extensive experience in five different high-acuity units in a level 1 trauma center, Callie chose to pursue a career in anesthesia, only to realize after three years that her true professional purpose was the mental health field. After leaving Nurse Anesthesia school, she took a job floating between two small rural hospitals, caring for medically ill and acutely ill psychiatric patients. In 2023, she pursued her MSN from St. Thomas University, stepping away from the bedside while working part-time as a legal nurse consultant. Today, Callie is proud to have found her calling, caring for mental health patients in collaboration with TBAC therapists.
