The provider seemed eager to accept the diagnosis I reported from previous doctors, despite the fact that I reported that I felt the diagnosis was off, or that there is more to it than just the one problem. She prescribed a drug that I have taken before, that I told her I did not have a good experience with. She did not take my concerns about that drug seriously, offer an alternative medication, or suggest holding off on drug therapy until she understood a little more about my case. She rushed to write a script and be done. I am not drug seeking, I am HELP seeking. This provider seems ready to write prescriptions without having a good understanding of the patient's medical situation. The entire encounter took less than 30 minutes, including time lost to technical difficulties. A first time appointment with a new mental health provider typically takes 2 hours or more. I felt this appointment was far too brief, even for an established patient.
