I believe in creating a safe and healing environment where you can feel comfortable navigating life’s ups and downs with professional support. We’re all capable, strength-filled individuals with the capacity to achieve positive change. We all face challenges and stressors in our lives; it’s part of being human! However, you don’t need to go through them alone. I’d be honored to help you along your personal journey of discovery and self-betterment. Let’s work together to achieve the life you deserve. I believe therapy is a collaborative process. You’re the expert on your life! I’m here to follow your lead and help build upon the inherent strengths and capabilities you already possess while providing guidance and insight. Therapy is transformative, and I hope to empower you through warm and compassionate connection to unearth your full potential. I earned my Bachelor’s degree from the University of Minnesota, which laid the foundation for my commitment to supporting others in their mental health journeys. Outside of therapy, I enjoy spending quality time with friends and family. Whether watching movies, attending concerts, or laughing over absurdist things, we bring light to each other’s lives. I love the calm that nature brings and try to foster that wellness as much as possible. Hiking, camping, and time on the water is my happy place. In a kayak, after a wakeboard session, or simply being in nature’s presence grounds me like no other. And I love stand-up comedy. Laughter truly is the best medicine! I assist clients with a range of concerns, including depression, anxiety, ADHD, eating disorders, body image, addiction, harm reduction, relationship and marriage issues, boundaries, family conflict, codependency, PTSD, trauma healing, grief and loss, suicidal ideation, self-harm, men’s issues, self-esteem, life coaching, personal growth, and values.

What should a new client know about working with you?

My therapeutic approach is strength-based, family system, and solution-focused. My work is trauma-informed and sensitive to the various, diversely held identities each of us possesses. I use evidence-based practices to guide my work with clients. I primarily operate from a solution-focused lens but incorporate narrative and existential therapy principles – in addition to motivational interviewing techniques – that guide my therapeutic practice.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

During the intake session we will cover: practice policies/procedures, legal and ethical boundaries, and what to expect from psychotherapy. After those initial considerations/disclosures, we will discuss your presenting concern(s), lifestyle factors, interpersonal supports, various/other wellness domains, and begin the process of collaborative goal setting/treatment planning. In addition, this first session is an opportunity for me to learn more about you as a person, and for you to ask me any relevant questions that pertain to our potential future work together. The intake session is much more of me talking and asking you questions to get a better holistic understanding of your context, which guides my diagnostic process - and subsequently - the best approach to take with your therapy. Future sessions will be much more client-led, but I am adaptable to whatever therapeutic approach/style you most resonate with. Finally, some logistical items: - Each session is 55-minutes. I schedule by the hour, so shorter session lengths are not available. We can always extend the session to 110-minutes, but the associated fee will be that of 2 held sessions. - I work with individuals (adults and adolescents), couples, and families. The session rate is the same regardless of client configuration. - I work with anyone that is at least age 13, (15 preferred); I do not work with younger clients than that. - My private practice is exclusively telehealth at this point. Subject to change in the future. - I do not provide crisis counseling/services. - Late cancellation/no show fees will apply if not provided at least 48-hours notice. There are exceptions e.g., physical illness, emergency situations, etc., - I only provide psychotherapy services, but would be happy to refer out to other providers for the purpose of psychiatric care, medical care, medication management, dietary counseling, etc.
