Camille Concepcion

Adult Psychiatric & Mental Health Nurse Practitioner
CA
Hi, I’m Camille, a board-certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Azusa Pacific University and my Master of Science in Nursing from Purdue Global University. With more than 15 years of patient care experience, I have cared for individuals and families in emergency nursing, outpatient psychiatry, Intensive Outpatient and Partial Hospitalization Programs, travel and concierge nursing, and during the COVID-19 pandemic. My experience supporting people through psychiatric crises and complex mental health conditions has given me a strong foundation in comprehensive psychiatric assessment and thoughtful, evidence-based treatment. After living and working in major cities like New York and Los Angeles, I settled in California’s Sierra Nevada foothills, where I also completed my advanced psychiatric clinical training in Yosemite National Park and surrounding communities. As a mother, first-generation immigrant, member of a multicultural family, and rural mountain community member, I understand that mental health is shaped by much more than a diagnosis. Our health, relationships, culture, family, work, environment, and life experiences are all part of our story. I take a holistic, biopsychosocial approach to care and believe treatment should feel personal and collaborative. I want to understand what it is like to walk in your shoes—your strengths, struggles, fears, hopes, and what matters most to you. Together, we can make sense of what you are experiencing, explore what works best for you, and create a treatment plan that feels authentically yours. Reaching out for mental health care isn’t always easy, and finding the right provider is an important first step. My goal is to create a welcoming space where you feel heard, respected, and genuinely cared for. Thank you for taking the time to learn a little about me. I’m so glad you’re here, and it would be an honor to support you on your mental health journey.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Before your visit, you’ll complete new-patient forms online. Please have a photo ID, insurance card, current medication information, and any relevant medical records, lab results, or previous psychiatric evaluations available. Completing your forms ahead of time allows me to review your history and make the most of our time together. Your first appointment is a consultation, about 75 minutes, and is designed to give us time to understand the whole picture—not just a list of symptoms. We’ll talk about what brings you in, your mental and physical health history, current medications, sleep, lifestyle, relationships, strengths, previous treatments, and what you hope to gain from care. During your initial consultation, we may discuss diagnostic impressions, treatment options, medication, supportive therapy, lifestyle strategies, referrals, and other evidence-based recommendations. Together, we’ll develop a plan tailored to your individual needs and goals. I believe psychiatric care should be thoughtful rather than rushed. Mental health often becomes clearer over time, so a diagnosis or prescription is not guaranteed at the first appointment. Sometimes additional records, labs, collateral information, or follow-up visits are needed before we can make a safe and accurate treatment decision. Most importantly, care is collaborative. I want to understand what it is like to walk in your shoes—your strengths, struggles, fears, hopes, and what matters to you. You will never be expected to share more than you are ready to discuss, and we can move at a pace that feels comfortable and respectful. Meaningful change rarely happens overnight. My goal is to build a relationship where you feel heard, informed, and actively involved in your care as we work toward long-term wellness and meaningful change.
