Getting to know Cammie Broussard

Welcome! I'm a dual-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and Family Nurse Practitioner with more than seven years of experience caring for patients in emergency medicine, primary care, and behavioral health. I work with adolescents and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, ADHD, mood disorders, sleep concerns, and other mental health conditions.

What should a new client know about working with you?

When you work with me, you can expect appointments that are thoughtful, unhurried, and focused on understanding the full picture, not just your symptoms. I care for adolescents and adults who often appear to have everything under control while quietly struggling with anxiety, depression, ADHD, mood changes, sleep concerns, or simply feeling unlike themselves. Our first visit is a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation where we'll discuss your history, current concerns, and the goals that matter most to you. I believe you should understand why I recommend a particular diagnosis or treatment, so I explain everything in clear, everyday language and encourage questions throughout the visit. Treatment is never one-size-fits-all. Whether we decide medication is appropriate, explore lifestyle changes, or discuss therapy options, we'll create a personalized plan that aligns with your needs and goals. My role is to provide guidance, education, and evidence-based care while helping you feel informed and confident in each decision, we make together. My goal is simple: to help you better understand what you're experiencing, find effective solutions, and get back to feeling like yourself.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

My process begins with a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation to better understand your concerns, medical and mental health history, current symptoms, and treatment goals. I take time to ask detailed questions so we can identify what's contributing to how you're feeling and develop an accurate diagnosis. Once we've discussed the findings, we'll review your treatment options together. If medication is appropriate, I'll explain how it works, what benefits and potential side effects to expect, and answer any questions you have before we begin. I may also recommend therapy, lifestyle modifications, or other supportive strategies based on your individual needs. Follow-up appointments allow us to monitor your progress, evaluate how you're responding to treatment, and make adjustments as needed. My goal is to provide ongoing care that is personalized, evidence-based, and focused on helping you achieve lasting improvement while feeling informed and supported every step of the way.
