About Candice Coleman-Pope
I am an Institute for Functional Medicine Certified Practitioner. I am also a dual board certified Nurse Practitioner specialized in Family Practice (University of South Florida 2015) as well as, Adult Gerontology Acute Care Nurse (University of Central Florida 2020). I obtained independent practice privilege from the State of Florida Board of Nursing in 2020. I am currently pursuing a Doctorate in Lifestyle Medicine with Florida State University. I have a passion for the integration of traditional and functional medicine to provide comprehensive evidence based care.
What is functional medicine? The functional medicine model involves a partnership between patient and practitioner. This approach addresses root causes of clinical symptoms by understanding how an individual’s unique circumstances, genetics, exposures, and lifestyle may be influencing clinical outcomes. A functional medicine approach seeks to understand THE WHY behind the diagnosis and seeks to restore optimal function.
My specialty areas of practice include lifestyle medicine, primary care, cardiovascular, pulmonary, and geriatrics. I have had the pleasure of providing care to patients across a wide variety of spectrums including acute critical inpatient care, outpatient office setting, skilled nursing facilities, and at home via virtual medium.
My practice style involves getting to know each patient/client personally and developing a rapport of comfort even if that is through a screen! I feel a detailed history is the most important part of investigating diagnosis. My approach to medicine combines both integrative and traditional health models into practice. Upon booking, you will be requested to complete a consent for treatment and intake form as well as provide medical history, allergies, pharmacy info and demographics.
I see patients in person during selected hours as well as via virtual visit platform.
