Getting to know Dr. Cara Remmes

I am a licensed psychologist specializing in anxiety and depressive symptoms in children, adolescents, and adults. Most individuals who seek support from me face stressors related to competitive and demanding school and work environments. I also have experience working with intellectually gifted individuals and those who are twice-exceptional (2e). I hold a PhD and a Master's degree in Clinical Child Psychology from the University of Miami, a Bachelor's degree from Cornell University, and completed my internship in Clinical Psychology at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital / Columbia University Medical Center. I begin sessions by understanding each individual's strengths and goals. My approach is collaborative and personalized, often drawing upon cognitive-behavioral interventions. In addition to cognitive-behavioral therapy, I have advanced training in Exposure and Response Prevention, Habit Reversal Training, Interpersonal Psychotherapy for Adolescents, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and Parent-Child Interaction Therapy. *Please note that I do not accept insurance. After you schedule an appointment, I will reach out to complete a free 15-minute phone consultation before the scheduled session.*
