About Carley Castellano
Hi! I'm Carley. I became a licensed speech-language pathologist (SLP) in 2012. I always knew that I wanted a profession where I would be teaching and communicating with people and helping them grow. My mother was a teacher, so naturally, I just assumed that would be my path. I shadowed a speech therapist at her school and loved the more one-on-one approach. I loved the interactions she had with kids as well as the creativity. As I did more research and shadowing, I fell more in love with speech therapy. I love the diverse opportunities it holds from the settings to the populations. I still feel as strong and passionate about speech therapy as I did then. I love the empowerment we can provide our clients and be an impact in their life, whether big or small. I have worked in pediatric outpatient clinics, adult outpatient clinics, acute care, skilled nursing facilities (SNFs), assisted living facilities, and memory care units. I am a provider of Melodic Based Communication Therapy and am also certified in Vital-Stim. I would describe my clinical style as client-centered, functional, and rooted in client empowerment by creating self-advocates.
