Adult Psychiatric & Mental Health Nurse Practitioner
CO
I believe that quality mental health care begins with feeling heard, understood, and supported. Seeking help can feel overwhelming, especially when you're unsure where to start or haven't felt understood in the past. My goal is to create a welcoming, judgment-free environment where you feel comfortable sharing your experiences, asking questions, and being an active part of your care. As a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with over 15 years of experience in healthcare, I provide psychiatric evaluations and medication management for children, adolescents, and adults ages 8–99. I work with individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, ADHD, bipolar disorder, sleep difficulties, trauma-related symptoms, and other mental health concerns. My approach is rooted in the belief that you are more than a diagnosis. Your mental health is influenced by many interconnected parts of your life, including your physical health, relationships, daily routines, stressors, and personal experiences. I take the time to understand the whole picture rather than focusing solely on symptoms or medications. I believe treatment should be a conversation, not a set of instructions. Together, we'll explore your concerns, discuss treatment options, and develop a plan that aligns with your needs, preferences, and goals. When appropriate, I also consider how sleep, nutrition, physical activity, and other lifestyle factors may support your overall well-being. Above all, I want you to feel that you have a voice in your care. Whether you're seeking treatment for the first time, reconsidering your current medications, or looking for a fresh perspective, I'm here to listen and work alongside you. I currently offer convenient telehealth appointments for individuals located throughout Colorado. My goal is to make psychiatric care feel approachable, collaborative, and centered around you.

What should a new client know about working with you?

When working with me, you can expect an open, honest conversation where your questions and concerns are always welcome. I understand that finding the right treatment isn't always straightforward, and sometimes it takes time to figure out what works best for you. Our first appointment is an opportunity for us to get to know each other, discuss what brought you in, and explore what you hope to gain from treatment. I won't rush you into decisions or expect you to have all the answers. I value honesty, humor, and genuine connection. I want our appointments to feel like conversations rather than checklists. I'll always explain my recommendations, welcome your feedback, and make adjustments as we learn what works for you. You don't need to have everything figured out before reaching out. We can start wherever you are and move forward together, one step at a time.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Our first appointment begins with a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation, where we'll explore your concerns, mental and physical health history, previous treatments, and what you're hoping to improve. I take an integrative approach, considering how sleep, nutrition, physical activity, stress, relationships, and underlying medical conditions may be influencing your mental health. Together, we'll develop an individualized treatment plan that may include medication management, lifestyle recommendations, and coordination with other healthcare providers when appropriate. I may also recommend laboratory testing to help identify physical health factors that could be contributing to your symptoms. Follow-up appointments give us an opportunity to evaluate your progress, monitor medications, address concerns, and make adjustments as needed. I recognize that mental health isn't one-size-fits-all, and treatment should evolve as your needs change. My goal is to help you find a balance that supports not only symptom improvement but also your overall well-being and quality of life.
