What should a new client know about working with you?

My approach is collaborative, compassionate, and individualized. I take time to understand the whole person—not just symptoms or a diagnosis—including your history, current stressors, lifestyle, and goals. I use evidence-based psychiatric care while also looking at potential contributing factors such as sleep, nutrition, stress, medications, and overall wellness. Together, we’ll develop a treatment plan that fits your needs and preferences. I believe in using the lowest effective medication dose when medication is appropriate and avoiding unnecessary medications whenever possible. You can expect a judgment-free environment where you can be open and honest. My goal is for you to feel heard, understood, and actively involved in your care. We’ll regularly reassess your progress and make adjustments together as needed.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Our first visit is focused on getting to know you and understanding the full picture—not just the symptoms that brought you in. We’ll review your mental health and medical history, current concerns, medications, lifestyle, stressors, and goals. When appropriate, I may also look at labs, family history, previous treatment responses, and other factors that can help us better understand what may be contributing to your symptoms. From there, we’ll work together to develop an individualized treatment plan. This may include medication management, lifestyle changes, supplements or targeted lab work when appropriate, and recommendations for therapy or other supportive services. I take a thoughtful approach to medication and aim to use the lowest effective dose while minimizing unnecessary medications. Follow-up visits are an opportunity to review how you’re doing, discuss what’s working and what isn’t, monitor for side effects, and make adjustments as needed. I incorporate therapeutic techniques and supportive counseling into medication management visits. My goal is for each visit to feel collaborative and productive, with a clear understanding of your treatment plan and next steps.
