“I recently met with Carrie and had a really positive experience overall. She was extremely attentive, listened closely to everything I shared, and asked thoughtful, targeted questions that made me feel heard and understood. She was very on point when it came to helping me figure out what I might need—whether that was medication support or connecting with someone for therapy. I appreciated how thorough she was and how she approached each concern with care and professionalism. The only reason I’m not giving a full five stars is because I initially went in assuming the visit would include more of a traditional counseling or talk-therapy approach. Carrie leans more toward the psychiatry side, focusing on diagnosis and medication management, which she does very well. It’s absolutely not a negative—just something important for others to know. If you’re hoping for in-depth talk therapy in the same session, you’ll likely need to meet with an additional provider who specializes in that.”

Getting to know Carrie Gresham

Hi, my name is Carrie, and I’m a Board-Certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner serving clients in Indiana. I specialize in the treatment of ADHD, anxiety, depression, insomnia and sleep issues, bipolar disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)/trauma. With over 15 years of nursing experience and psychiatric training from the University of Southern Indiana, I’m deeply committed to providing compassionate, evidence-based care. I’m passionate about destigmatizing mental healthcare, and together with my colleagues at Lavender Psychiatry, I’m on a mission to create a world where feelings are felt, respected and cared for.

What should a new client know about working with you?

PLEASE NOTE, I’M IN-NETWORK WITH AETNA, ANTHEM, BLUE CROSS BLUE SHIELD, CIGNA, MEDICARE, OXFORD AND UNITED HEALTHCARE. I DO NOT ACCEPT MEDICAID. My therapeutic style is characterized by warmth, engagement, and a genuine personal connection. I believe in establishing a strong, collaborative relationship with each client, where we work together to make informed decisions about their treatment. My practice is inclusive and welcoming, embracing diversity in culture, background, and experience. I have worked with a wide range of clients, including students, parents, professionals from various fields, skilled tradespeople, service industry workers, retail employees, entrepreneurs, artists, and technology experts. I am committed to providing a safe and supportive space where each individual feels heard, understood, and empowered to achieve their therapeutic goals. I chose to be a psych NP because I cannot imagine doing anything else in my life except for helping those who are finding their way and their voice. I always wanted a career in nursing and in healthcare due to my desire and passion of wanting to help those who need it the most. Starting treatment can be a scary and intimidating process, I’ve successfully treated many people who are new to psychiatric care.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Booking Process: Request your appointment time on Zocdoc. My office will email you an online intake form to ensure I’m able to help you. If we’re a fit, we’ll reach out to confirm an appointment time. I try my best to keep slots available each week for new clients. Your First Visit: The initial session is a comprehensive, one-hour evaluation which allows me to understand your current symptoms and difficulties, and learn about important aspects of your past psychiatric, medical, social, educational, and family histories. At the end of the session, we’ll determine the best treatment course. Session frequency ranges from weekly to monthly depending on the type of treatment you’re looking for. If you’re already seeing a therapist, I’m happy to collaborate with them while guiding the medication aspect of your treatment. However, many of my clients see me for both therapy and medication management. My practice, Lavender Psychiatry, is founded and fueled by board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioners who create therapeutic journeys that are kind, convenient and transparent so that people can flourish. We have a fantastic team that works together to ensure our clients are well taken care of. This includes our care concierge team who is available 7 days a week between your appointments, to help answer questions and assist with any issues regarding coverage and prescriptions etc. We also have covering providers in case I’m away and an urgent matter arises. I look forward to meeting you and helping you in your journey to a brighter future!

I was told I'd receive an email with instructions on how to get to the virtual call. No email was sent. I was looking forward to this appointment to get put back on my medication. I am not very happy.
