“I visited Carrie St. Amand, PA regarding a full body skin check to screen for any skin cancer. An appointment like this can often causes anxiety, but can feel completely different with the right provider! She was very kind, respectful, and highly knowledgeable while performing the screening. Her assessment of my skin was detail oriented and patient centered while creating a comfortable environment. I can't recommend her enough!

About Carrie St. Amand
Carrie St. Amand earned her Bachelor's degree and Master's in Physician Assistant Studies from Springfield College, Springfield, MA. She is a board-certified Physician Assistant.
She joined Dermatology Associates at Crystal Run in 2011. Previously, she held positions in general surgery, ENT, emergency medicine, and urgent care. The office staff was kind. When I went in the exam room there were two dirty specimen cups on a tray thrown behind the exam seat and on a windowsill. The blinds were broken on the sides. Carrie St.Amand was in a rush and didn’t listen to the questions I was asking. She was extremely short to the point of being condescending. When she left the room, I was assuming she would come back to discuss the rx she prescribed, but she abruptly left and never returned so I asked her assistant what the next steps were. I will be switching to another practice going forward. She was in such a rush that she barely looked at my body for a skin cancer screening and no light was used (as in other practices in the past). I would 100 percent recommend seeing another doctor.

The front desk staff were smiling and friendly even though it was only 7 am. I was called immediately upon arrival and within minutes the PA came in. She did a thorough check of my whole body and addressed my concerns about a dark skin patch. She talked about sunscreen and how to protect my skin without preaching to me. I made a follow up for a year at the desk on the way out and made it to work on time.

Carrie St.Amand is professional, super kind, very attention in a very efficient, timely manner..she is an active listener who makes eye contact, stops, pays attention to my words..connected beautifully with me..the exam could be daunting, NOPE, not with her, I was made to feel comfortable, valuable, worthy of her time, her expertise..her warmth was palpable even in the excellent information she shared with me with regard to my issue.. I have a dermatological HX so each visit I am anxious..That is quickly dispelled when she entered the room,w/her assistant, who was also soft, caring..overall, wonderFULL experience..the office is well staffed, great at their jobs without hesitation..my time there was speedy yet complete in every way as to my needs.. what a pleasure for what could potentially be frightening, uncomfortable, stressful.. thank YOU for employing such awesome Humans who know their positions, then convey it beautifully to patients thru their behavior, thank you all

I have been seeing Carrie for years, since I was a little girl and I am now into my 30s. I haven’t had the best experiences with her the past 2 years, but I believe that’s because of the new company that took over the original one. My visit today 7/30/24 was the best I’ve had with her in a while. I wanted to give her and the office one more appointment before completing leaving and finding another dermatologist. I am glad I went and had the experience I had today. She listened and was able to take care of everything I wanted during my appointment. She is also very flexible with appointments and there is little to no wait time.

Perhaps it is a larger communications/systemic issue between Schweiger and the platforms they use to book appointments, but the doctor seemed to be put off by the reasons for the appointment. When I shared my reasons for scheduling the appointment, she spoke in a slightly condescending way regarding her area of expertise. The appointment itself felt rushed and I was spoke "at" most of the time as opposed to having a conversation. My former dermatologist is with Schweiger. Unfortunately she is all the way in midtown so I bit the bullet and tried a local provider. Not sure if I will do that again.

We heard the provider speaking loudly about us while waiting to be seen. When she came into the room her tone of voice was rude and off putting. She asked why we were there and acted annoyed that we were seeing her instead of the doctor we saw at a previous appointment. In other appointments she was very kind and pleasant, but today was a completely negative experience and both my daughter and I were uncomfortable with the overall tone of the conversation. By the end it improved, but I just couldn’t believe the interaction.
