Carson earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Florida, where he majored in Psychology with a specialization in Neuroscience. He went on to earn his Master of Physician Assistant Studies from the University of South Florida, where he developed a strong interest in psychiatry and behavioral health. Carson is currently completing an accelerated internship in psychiatry at The Florida Psychiatric Center. His clinical interests include depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), mood disorders, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), and obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD). He has a particular interest in treatment-resistant depression, trauma-related conditions, and psychopharmacology. Carson takes a holistic and individualized approach to psychiatric care, recognizing that each patient’s experiences, goals, and needs are unique. He strives to combine evidence-based, up-to-date medical treatment with supportive care to help patients achieve meaningful improvements in their quality of life. Carson’s interest in psychiatry began in high school after witnessing the positive impact mental health professionals could have on individuals and families. That experience inspired him to pursue a career focused on helping people navigate mental health challenges and reach their fullest potential. He is committed to building collaborative relationships with his patients and providing thoughtful, compassionate care throughout their treatment. Originally from Melbourne, Florida, Carson now calls the Tampa Bay area home. Outside of work, he enjoys running throughout Tampa, spending time with his dog.
