Cassandra Augustine (formerly known as Williams)
Cassandra received her associates degree in nursing in 2014 after graduating from Montefiore School of Nursing in New York. She quickly advanced to her bachelors degree from Chamberlain University and specialized in Psychiatry since 2016. Cassandra decided to advance in her field, attended New York University, and became a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner since 2022. Her past occupational experience has been working with developmentally delayed children, clients struggling with acute psychiatric conditions, clients struggling with substance use, struggling symptoms associated with personality disorders, supporting clients healing from narcissistic abuse, and clients struggling with weight gain. Her primary focus is offering comprehensive care (consistent of therapy and possible medication management depending on severity of symptoms) to individuals struggling with weight, substance use, stress, anxiety, obsessive thoughts, compulsive behaviors, mood disorders, depression, personality, and attentional difficulties. Her therapy option offered is supportive or cognitive behavioral therapy to tackle symptoms depending on the client's needs. Cassandra's care is also client centered making the client her primary focus and treatment is based on what the client is looking for.
What should a new client know about working with you?
Care is client centered and comprehensive. Psychotherapy can be offered along with medication management or possible medication management (if clients are seeking therapy first and want to continue assessing their symptoms during timely sessions). Care and treatment is based upon assessment and diagnosis, client symptoms, historical and physical background, current symptoms or struggles, and client goals. Continuation of care is also provided for clients that already have their regimen in place.

I initially thought Dr. Cassandra was a good listener who made me feel heard, but after my first appointment she did not follow up with prescription info and assessments and after my second appointment that lasted 10 minutes, I never heard from her again regarding a treatment referral that she said she’d make. It felt unprofessional and a bit negligent.

She went above and beyond to make sure we received the medication we needed, even following up personally to ensure everything was handled quickly and correctly.
