Dr. Cathy Allsman, PsyD

Psychologist
FL
Experienced Therapy for Individuals, Couples and Families Facing Anxiety, Life Transitions, and Relationship Challenges: People often seek therapy when something no longer feels workable—persistent anxiety or depression, relationship strain, unresolved emotional pain, or a major life transition such as divorce, retirement, health changes, or a move. You may feel uncertain, emotionally exhausted, overwhelmed, or unsure how to make sense of what you’re experiencing. I work with individuals and couples to better understand what is happening, heal from past and recent trauma, and move forward with greater clarity and stability. My approach is thoughtful, flexible, and grounded in your unique circumstances. Therapy is a collaborative process in which we identify realistic goals and develop a plan that supports meaningful and lasting change. As both a Licensed Psychologist and a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, I bring an integrated perspective to my work. This allows me to attend not only to individual emotional experiences, but also to the relational patterns and life contexts that influence them. Whether you are seeking individual therapy or couples work, I approach treatment through a trauma-informed and relational lens. My practice is telehealth-only and serves clients throughout Florida. I am primarily a private-pay provider and also accept Medicare. Choosing a therapist is an important decision, and not every therapist is the right fit. I encourage you to explore my website and reach out if you’d like to discuss whether working together may be helpful. Many people initially wonder whether telehealth can be as effective as in-person therapy. Prior to the pandemic, I shared some of those same questions. Experience has shown me that telehealth can be a meaningful and effective way to do therapy, and the overwhelming majority of clients who were initially uncertain have chosen to continue.
