I want to alert others that the individual I consulted with was not the person depicted in the company’s promotional materials. This company appears to use the credentials and images of other physicians to attract clients. While the person I interacted with was courteous, I am uncertain about their qualifications or if they were a licensed doctor, as they seemed to be operating from outside the United States.
This situation is concerning, as fraudulent telemedicine practices have been on the rise. Some companies have been found to employ unqualified individuals or even AI-generated personas to provide medical advice, misleading patients about the legitimacy of the care they receive. ? Additionally, there have been instances where telemedicine platforms have shared sensitive patient information without consent, compromising patient privacy. ?
