“Dr. Mejia is very kind and his demeanor sets the kids at ease quite quickly. He also does a great job of listening and never dismissing my concerns, which is standard in this office, but not common everywhere. I also really appreciate that Dr. Mejia speaks directly to the children, asking for their input, which again, is the standard in this office, but certainly not everywhere. We always say that Dr. Ponce is "our doctor", but we willingly see anyone in the practice if she is booked up, and have never felt that the care was substandard in any way. It is really comforting to know that we have an entire team of reliable practitioners available to us in their office, so we are not limited by appointment availability and our children are not thrown off by seeing a different doctor (or nurse practitioner).”

About Dr. Cesar R Mejia
César Mejía, MD, is a board-certified pediatrician with Orlando Health Physician Associates. He cares for patients from birth through early adulthood and provides services such as newborn check-ups, wellness checks, school physicals, sick visits, chronic care, and more.
Dr. Mejía guides children and their families toward healthy lifestyle behaviors and choices, with a special interest in addressing obesity and providing weight management counseling when needed.
He earned his Doctor of Medicine from the State University of New York, Downstate Medical Center, and completed his residency in pediatrics at Albert Einstein College of Medicine of Yeshiva University, Children's Hospital at Montefiore. He holds a bachelor's degree from Marist College.
Dr. Mejía dedicates time to community outreach projects and is a former member of the National Health Services Corps, which provides healthcare professionals to medically underserved communities across the country. Before medical school, he was an AmeriCorps community service organizer at a bilingual elementary school in East Harlem, where he helped immigrant children from Latin America improve their English literacy skills.
He is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics, and his work has appeared in peer-reviewed journals. Dr. Mejía is fluent in both English and Spanish.
When not caring for patients, he enjoys spending time with his daughter, running, HIIT exercise, and watching sports.
