Chabellys Payares, PMHNP

Adult Psychiatric & Mental Health Nurse Practitioner
FL
Chabellys Payares, MSN, APRN, PMHNP-BC “Begin where you are. Become where you’re going.” CPR Calm Purpose Recovery was inspired by my journey as a nurse and psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner. After years of caring for people through some of the most difficult and vulnerable moments of their lives—from critical care and emergency medicine to recovery and mental health—I learned that healing is about more than treating symptoms. It is about seeing the whole person, meeting them where they are, and helping them find their way forward. CPR also carries a personal meaning for me: it represents both Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and my own initials. To me, it symbolizes the belief that even when life feels overwhelming or someone feels stuck, there can be an opportunity to pause, breathe, recover, and begin again. My mission is to create a warm, judgment-free space where people of all ages feel heard, respected, and supported in becoming the healthiest version of themselves.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I believe mental health care should be personal, collaborative, and judgment-free. I take the time to understand you as a whole person and create a treatment plan that fits your individual needs and goals. I don’t believe medication is the answer for everyone, and I’m not a provider who simply wants to prescribe. When medication is appropriate, we’ll discuss the benefits and options together; when it isn’t, I’ll support evidence-based approaches that may be better suited to you. My goal is for you to feel heard, respected, and genuinely involved in your care.
