Chad Brinderson, LCP

Child and Adolescent Psychologist
CA
Hi there, I'm Chad! I am a warm and caring professional with whom clients can be honest and laugh. I help clients to understand themselves and how to live more effectively in their work and personal lives. Clients will feel heard by me and will feel safe to talk about difficult experiences in the past which have helped to shape them. My focus All clients are welcome. Clients do better in therapy if they are open to new ideas, willing to come to therapy prepared with topics for discussion, and are willing to try new things between sessions. My approach I am often described as being calm and a good listener. I deeply believe in finding people's strengths and helping them to find ways to find alternative ways of navigating situations. Clients are encouraged to think about what they are wanting to and willing to change. My communication style My communication style tends to be warm and supportive. It can also be matter of fact. At times, I use genuine humor to lighten the mood. My hope is that clients feel encouraged and challenged to make themselves uncomfortable to the extent needed for meaningful change. My journey to mental healthcare I have always been drawn to helping others in a strong, but quiet way. My hope to is use the tools and perspective that I have learned in my 30 years of practice to continue to help people achieve progress towards the life they want to live. My goals for you I help clients to reach their goals by creating achievable goals collaboratively with the client and continuing to support them to make small steps towards the goals. Movement and even small progress allows for more progress. Our first session During the first session you have the opportunity to ask whatever questions you would like about therapy. I will be asking about what has brought you to therapy and about your strengths and goals. This is our time to get to know one another and assess if our future meetings will be helpful to you. It is usually a busy meeting.
