About Chanda Copeland

Chanda practices both general and cosmetic dermatology for patients of all ages. She has a particular interest in the diagnosis and treatment of common and less common skin conditions including psoriasis, eczema, hidradenitis suppurativa, vitiligo, and acne. She also performs Total-Body Skin Cancer ExamsSM and enjoys providing aesthetic procedures for hair loss, hair removal (using laser) and skin resurfacing and rejuvenation using chemical peels. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Howard University and her Master of Science in Nursing from Georgetown University. After completing forms at my appt, a staff person calls me to the front desk. She tells me that the Dr I booked no longer provides care for my condition, they just haven't gotten around to taking it off the ZocDoc site. She openly named my condition (Alopecia) earshot of the waiting room a few times. She said that because I booked via ZocDoc they didnt know. I informed her that this was known every step of the way: I booked in June for Aug. I filled out the intake forms via email which clearly stated why I booked. I even showed her their office's name/# in my call log from them calling me the last 3 days. I was embarrassed. I was inconvenienced. I was given no remedy. My appt should have been denied upon booking if she no longer treats this condition. I hope this doc and their staff revisit the basics of reading a patient's info upon booking versus waiting until the patient arrives for their appt to inform them that treatment for their condition is no longer available.

CRNP Chanda Copeland was very pleasant. The nurse who called me from the waiting room was also very nice and friendly. I just had a problem hearing the receptionist when she called me. Don't feel like she was really making an attempt to be heard. Lastly, I don't know how Zocdoc appointments fit in with office made appointments, but I waited over an hour before I was called. My appointment was at 1:50 and I was called at 2:55. I was contemplating leaving when they called me. Other, than having over an hour, it was a good experience and I would probably go back.
I have been to this office previously to visit another doctor but I felt rushed and unheard. I decided to return but visit a different doctor, and I am very pleased. Great bedside manner, took time to listen and gave suggestions. Some of the information was the same as what I received previously, but Dr. Copeland's delivery was so much better. She realizes that it's not a one size fits all approach. I would definitely recommend.
