About Dr. Channing Chin

Dr. Chin is a native of Louisiana. He earned his Doctor of Medicine from St. George's University School of Medicine and completed the N.E.W. Program Fellowship in Minimally Invasive and Bariatric Surgery. He has trained extensively in bariatric and minimally invasive surgery and has practiced on both the east and west coasts. He has performed many minimally invasive surgeries, including sleeve gastrectomy, gastric bypass, and revisional surgeries. His diverse experience has allowed him to expand his knowledge in bariatric surgery. He is Board Certified in Bariatric and General Surgery, a Fellow of the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery, and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. His interest in advancing the field of bariatric surgery led him to conduct research. He has multiple publications focused on sleeve gastrectomy. Dr. Chin is dedicated to helping individuals overcome their struggles with obesity. He understands the hardships associated with the disease and seeks to improve the lives of each patient.

I was very hesitant to approach the prospects of bariatric surgery. I knew people who were very successful with it. Dr. Chin a+ the Wayne NYBG office were absolutely tremendous in making the experience as pain free and as informative as they could. The staff is super responsive and helpful and Dr. Chin has been available for questions.
The surgery could not have gone better and a month and a half post op I am doing great and making great progress. One of the things I've liked the most is how watchful they are post-surgery. I have regular follow ups with Dr. Chin and his staff and his practice also has a large and fairly extensive network of support options to help you as the process is more than surgery.
Had a wonderful experience with Dr. Channing Chin. He is very supportive and always takes time to answer all of your questions and works to address any concerns you may have.
Dr. Chin is not just a skilled surgeon, he's a gentleman with such a pleasant demeanor. Always smiling, never rushing you through your visits and always available for questions and concerns. Thank you I feel amazing and I'm very happy.

The very first time I went to Dr. Chin I felt so comfortable with him. I had my surgery on Feb 21 and I'm feeling so much better its the best thing I ever did. Dr. Chin has a wonderful bedside manner even after surgery he called my daughter to tell her everything went well and she said mom he was so nice. He listens to you when you talk, he explains everything to you step by step. He's the best!!!!
