About Dr. Charitin De Pena Gomez
A Dominican Republic native, Dr. De Peña moved to Puerto Rico at age 16. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Nursing Science from the Interamerican University of Puerto Rico. She went on to complete her medical school training at Universidad Iberoamericana de Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.
Dr. De Peña completed her residency training at Hospital Bella Vista in Mayagüez, Puerto Rico. During the final year and a half of her residency, she served as the Chief Resident of her family medicine program. Her passion and focus are on educating and empowering her patients to be active members of their own healthcare team, encouraging them to learn about their health conditions. For Dr. De Peña, prevention is better than treatment.
In her free time, Dr. De Peña enjoys spending time with family and friends, exploring new restaurants and towns, and going to the parks.

I had a great experience at Pandya. I was scheduled to see a doctor who ended up not being able to see me. I got a call two days before my appointment to let me know and they offered to reschedule or I could see a different doctor. I ended up seeing her (Dr. De Pena) and she was great.
The women at the front desk were very kind and friendly. I was the only one in the waiting room and they took me right back. I was in and out (as a new patient) within 40 minutes.

The doctor was excellent, very professional, good listening, a 10/10 review for a complete physical exam.. very friendly and above all speaks perfect Spanish and English... many times the profiles of the doctors here say they speak Spanish but do not know anything about Spanish .. everything was excellent!!
