First appointment today, very professional, thorough, and understanding.
Concerned but never probing. Very polite. Very professional.
First appointment today. Prompt. Professional. Private. Direct and to the point which is exactly what I was looking for and appreciate in a doctor. Asked appropriate questions and listened to answers.
Always quick and to the point. Love this doctor!
Excellent doctor highly recommend
A true professional
Dr. Kaegi is very professional and caring. He addresses issues to help patient.
Had a very pleasant visit.
Dr. Kaegi is thoughtful and collaborative to find medications that are affordable and do not cause problems with my other medications.
Dr. Kaegi is very down to business, bordering on curt, so, if you are expecting a therapist who will spend a lot of time listening to your feelings then he's not right for you. however, very knowledgable, and answered all my questions quickly and without any trace of judgement.
Dr. Kaegi is kind and and gentle hearted. He always has great notes from my previous appointments and invites my input for my treatment.
Very patient and understanding.
Dr Kaegi is probably one of the kindest doctors I've ever seen. Patient, concerned and helpful.
Very professional, easy to speak with, and, all-in-all, a very good experience.
I do not recommend this doctor. I came to this appointment and was admittedly 15 minutes late. The doctor had his door open in a small office taking a medical call and called me in 5 minutes later. He asked me, with his door open why I was there and to disclose my medical history in an indiscreet location and said that even though he had taken the appointment after me (?) that he could not see me because he needed 30 minutes for an appointment and his next appointment would be in 25 minutes. He was very rude and unprofessional. I calmly explained that I had traveled a significant distance to see him and asked if there was anything that could be done and he expressed no empathy at all. Lacks discretion, empathy, and patient centeredness. Go elsewhere.
He was very helpful and direct to the point. Non judgmental in any way. Holistic approach to reach goal of therapy. Over all, had a very pleasant experience.
He was professional, to the point, and comfortable to be around.
Dr. Kaegi is professional, and sympathetic towards his patience. I would recommend him to anyone.
Dr. Kaegi seemed unconcerned with me as a person, and switched all my medications without more than a 5-minute initial consultation. The signs in his office in bold, all-caps print make it feel very unwelcoming - the practice seems to be focused on getting patients in and out as quickly as possible rather than detailed treatment.
He is helping me with several things. Excellent and patient with me and all of my questions. He gives me clear and concise answers to my questions.
This man clearly knows he has the power in the relationship and isn't afraid to show it. During my appointments I usually felt I had no agency. He stuck to his standard set of questions and resisted answering any questions and rarely considered new alternatives. He is a take it or leave it kind of person, who acts as if he can do no wrong. He might be able to help some people, but after 18 sessions with him I finally realized he was harming me more than helping.
Dr. Kaegi is wonderful! I have been seeing him for years and I highly recommend him. Thank you Dr. Kaegi for helping me!
He listens very well and offers short direct feedback. If you are expecting this to be therapy as well he is not your guy. If you have a therapist and need to get on medication. I recommend Dr. Kaegi. He gets right to the point. No bullshit.
Very attentive. Listened. Helped. Encouraging.
Very patient, profssional, and took the time to listen to why I was there.
Very fast service and great bedside manner!!!! Listened to everything I had to say without interruption.
He was really great listener and thought intently about the things I was telling him. He was very open to integrating parts of my suggestions about treatment at well. I would definitely recommend.
Dr. Kaegi is right to the point, no messing around; this is what I like about him. He's very well versed in his profession. I would definitely recommend him to others.
Dr. Kaegi is great as always!
Bad bedside manners which is very uncommon for a psychiatrist. Cuts you short when you try to explain your situation if he doesn't like something and he does not offer any encouragement or motivation, he is just there to prescribe meds.
Very professional and therapeutic appointment.
Clear he is in this business for the paycheck and the paycheck only. Sure, he will write you the script you are seeking. On the other hand, if you want someone to really listen and at least act like they care about you and your symptoms.. I would go elsewhere.
I've been a loyal patient of Dr. Kaegi for just over 3 years now and have nothing but good things to say. Very professional and to the point, but also converses and keeps things as lighthearted as they can.
High level of care regarding treatment plan and tracking. Professional. Punctual. Gets to the point. Easy to get along with.
He is a great doctor and very focused on listening
This was my first visit with Dr.Kaegi and I was very happy with the treatment I received. I felt I could trust him with my concerns and I am looking forward to seeing how the treatment goes in the future.
Dr. Kaegi was attentive to my issues and efficient in following up on my case.
Third time seeing Dr. Kaegi in several years, twice in the last couple months. Happy to say that I plan on having him as my regular Psychiatrist. He is no non-sense, professional, and straight forward. He is able to take your history and sort through that with the information available and develop a simple, long-term plan. Non-judgmental, and his experience and strong education shows. Appointments are not hard to get, and unlike some doctors, he’s not in this to enrich himself, but he wants his patients to be at their best in my opinion, and he doesn’t seem to force his opinions upon you, so as to have a preconceived notion about what types of medications and treatment plans are good or bad - he keeps an open mind. He will keep you on track and accountable, and has your best interests in mind with respect to his expertise, in my opinion. Surprised he still is accepting new patients.
GREAT DOCTOR! Very professional and genuinely caring. Very short waiting time.
Easy to talk to
Dr. Charles Kaegi is an awful psychiatrist. He is not attentive to patient need and does not listen during patient consultations. His office runs similarly to a fast food restaurant: he sees you for five minutes, writes you a script, and rudely dismisses you. Would not recommend.
I would definitely recommend Dr. Kaegi to anyone that wants a doctor that's extremely knowledgeable, dedicated, kind, and professional.
Very nice. He asked great direct questions.
I have had issues with him for nearly the entire time I've been his patient (2 yrs), I only went to him because my !ong-time psych dropped my insurance & my therapist recommended him. I needed someone quick, but was warned he had a lousy "bedside manner." She wasn't kidding. I was in a crazy intense period of my life and emotionally the idea of starting the whole process of looking again seemed overwhelming. From the beginning, he gave me grief about the successful med cocktail I was on. I'm bi-polar, w/very rapid cycling mixed episodes, and mild OCD and Agoraphobia. This cocktail had been the most successful & kept me out of hospital for 5 years. I saw him every 3 months and when I began to wonder if maybe I needed a med adjustment, he offered only a couple of old drugs. I tried one and when it didn't work he just said there wasn't anything else. With threats of dropping me, he insisted on reducing my anxiety med slowly w/the intention of getting me off it, all during the most stressful period of time. At no point did he address the fact that I was spiraling w/episodes, increasingly isolating, etc. I was not sleeping for 2-3 days, staying getting dressed or showering, and only leaving the house maybe 4-5 times a month w/planning. This had gone on for nearly a year and he had done NOTHING. This last month a paper prescription I had from him expired so the pharmacy called him to see if he would mail another. Turns out he has a policy of not returning calls from pharmacies. Meanwhile, I'm out of a med I've been on since 2003 and is a crucial part of the med cocktail. I finally just make an appt & take my boyfriend. I describe how difficult life has been & also have my boyfriend tell him in case I forget (one of the side effects). He says since I been off it, he's not going to give me a new script as he had wanted me off it!! I tell him I'm having trouble driving and he says, "THEN DON'T DRIVE." I try to tell him about it's effect on another health issue and he cuts me off and says, " I'VE SPENT ENOUGH TIME ON THIS AND I HAVE OTHER PATIENTS. " I told him this was my last appt and please just give me my scripts. I asked for any treatment plan or records and he refused. He would only send to my next psychiatrist. I apologize this is so long, but I want others to know what being his patient is truly like. My boyfriend, who started to see him and had only seen him maybe 2 times and thought he was pretty stiff, was appalled. He's leaving, too. Kaegi is on staff at Aurora Lakeshore Hospital. I can't imagine how incredibly ineffective he would be as a psychiatrist when you need empathy and a Dr w/ understanding of psychopharmacology. Honestly, I believe he would literally set my care back when I was at my most vulnerable. Also, I'm very unimpressed w/his knowledge of psychotropic meds. Whatever you do, think twice before you choose Kaegi.
I really like Dr Kaegi. I feel he listens intently to my issues. He finds the nuances in what I'm saying about how I feel and he asks questions to reach the best possible outcome. He monitors me closely on my meds- I will see him monthly as we adjust dosage. I feel comfortable with him and I trust him to help me stabilize the depressive episodes I experience. He also explains to me why he thinks what he's prescribing for me will help me, and he answers my questions about how I'll feel as I adjust to a higher dosage and about possible side effects. Also, he happens to have a kindly manner.
He's great. Personable, efficient, tidy, flexible and accommodating.
Great doctor with a warm disposition that really listens to his patients needs
He is very professional, friendly, courteous and of course knowledgable. I highly recommend him.
He is very thorough in his follow-up and always takes what I have to say seriously. I feel very confident that he knows how to treat me with medication.
Good doctor. Quiet but smart and knowledgeable. I recommend him.
The doctor was very competent
He is a good listener.
Personable and very insightful. Definitely recommend!!
The Dr was almost 20 minutes late. Yet I've read reviews about him not seeing patients because they were 15 minutes late. My visit was a disappointment - it was like he didn't believe what I was telling him I needed help for.
Excellent very understanding of the patients needs
I would highly recommend Dr. Kaegi. Making appointments is easy, he's extremely accommodating with billing, he has several different ways to pay your bill, including Venmo and Chase Quick Pay. My first visit with him was my first psychiatrist visit ever and he made me feel comfortable and at ease. My insurance required prior approval for the medication he prescribed me and he acted very fast with that. He is quiet and doesn't volunteer a lot of information, but he will thoroughly explain anything if you ask.
I was torn between seeing a younger or older doctor. A doctor who’s been in the field for many years, as Dr. Kaegi has, could go one of two ways: lots of experience leads to an impressive and in-depth understanding of patient needs -OR- they’ve been at it so long that all patients are the same to them. I feel Dr. Kaegi was the latter. On top of not looking at me at all, instead focusing on his computer screen, the only conversation was him asking template medical history questions. When he did finally ask me about why I’m there, my sentences were cut off and finished for me, and simplified. He’s been a doctor so long he no longer cares that patients are individuals with individual needs. To him we’re all the same and he’s heard what we have to say a million times already. As soon as I said “anxiety”, he cut me a script and sent me on my way. My depression was completely ignored, and I got nothing for it, though I voiced that treating depression is a higher concern for me over anxiety. If you want an impersonal doctor for easy prescriptions, Dr. Kaegi is your guy. I never even filled the prescription he gave me because if he doesn’t understand my needs, then those meds more than likely wrong for me. If you want an in-depth and personal approach to your unique needs so you know you’re getting the treatment that’s right for you, look elsewhere.
Dr. Kaegi is great! He has helped me a ton since I began seeing him a couple of months ago. He is not a therapist/psychologist, and therefore, is going to be more efficient regarding diagnostic interviewing. That is to be expected when making an appointment with a psychIATRIST (it seems like some people confuse psychotherapy and psychiatry). He does, however, truly listen and is very attentive regarding your symptoms. Life has been much better since I began seeing him!
Dr. Kaegi clearly understood my circumstances during my first visit and quickly coordinated with my other mental healthcare provider.
Excellent, would recommend.
Very perceptive and accommodating
Doc asks pertinent questions, listens, and dialogues with care. He has a direct style that is effective and efficient:)
Professional, attentive and kind. Showed a nice level of patience and open mindedness to my questions.
He made me feel very comfortable and listened to everything I had to say without interrupting. He was not condescending or rude. I think he was very helpful.
Great doctor. Very knowledgeable and respectful of his patients time.
Dr. Kaegi is a good psychiatrist. He is quiet and does not talk much but he knows what he is doing and set me on the right path. I recommend him.
Very professional, patient, and persistent about helping me out. Also, public transit to reach the building was very easy. Petersen bus goes right there.
Quick and efficient appointments. He has Found me the right combo of medications and it’s changing my life for the better.
Really didn't like this guy. I was a hassle to refill my medication and he did not answer my questions.
A very strict doctor in terms of scheduling. I arrived a few minutes late and he already accepted someone else but very helpful and professional overall.
Terrible bed side manner. Wanted to discuss how I felt lately because I thought the medication I was taking made some of me negative feelings worse. Advised me to stop my medication cold turkey instead of tapering me off. Terrible advice. Now I’m going through withdrawals and feel awful. Seems like a guy who doesn’t care about his patients and just cares about money. Won’t be going back.
I feel well-cared for by Dr Kaegi. He has my best interests in mind. He is efficient, and some people take this as a cold demeanor. But he is not a therapist, he is an MD. I plan on continuing to see him as long as I need to.
Very thoughtful physician. Asks pertinent questions succinctly.
Very helpful pleasant bedside manner.
Very minimal wait time. Doctor was good at asking questions and logged everything accordingly.
Dr. Charles has a soft-spoken no-nonsense manner about him, and he is thorough, knowledgeable, and punctual with our appointments. I see him monthly to adjust my medication, and I am completely satisfied with how well office visits and treatments help me to manage my conditions.
I've only seen Dr. Kaegi once, and it wasn't a very long appointment. I was seen just a couple minutes after my appointment time, and making my appointment was fast and easy. The appointment itself was fine, nothing stood out as exceptional, but nothing was negative either. I would go back.
Dr. Kaegi is straightforward and friendly, an excellent Psychiatrist. My only issue is a long ride to his offices on public transit, but it may be easier from where you live!
He is a great doctor...attentive, easy to talk to and helpful
Dr Kaegi was very well informed and professional. He gave very good information.
Dr. Kaegi was an excellent doctor. Very easy to talk to, appointments are easy to make online, and the office visits do not take too long. I was able to explain my issues and he gave me a few options for treatment plans. I recently moved out of the Chicago area and was sad to no longer be able to see him anymore. Would highly recommend.
Great visit – the doctor heard my experiences and assisted me with the proper medication. Cannot value him enough!
Dr. Kaegi was very straight to the point in my session with him. He had me fill out a couple questionaires and then followed that up with his recommended course of action. In doing so, he provided me with multiple courses of action and mostly put me in the driver's seat. Great 'no nonsense' psychiatrist that wants the best for his patients.
I highly recommend Dr. Kaegi
Awful. Doesn’t seem to care one iota for the patient. Doesn’t care about the root cause of any mental issue, only about what he can prescribe to you and send you on your way. Unresponsive via email.
Dr. Kaegi is one of the greatest doctors I have ever known. Beyond grateful to have him as my doctor! -izzy z
Went to see Dr. Kaegi for a follow up and he was courteous as always and answered all my questions. I only waited 10 minutes after my initial appointment time which I didn't mind since it was a quick one and had no problem paying my bill while in the office. Always a pleasure with Dr. Kaegi and I would recommend him to anyone looking for a kind and understanding doctor.
Dr. Kaegi is a really sweet guy and was pleasant the entire time during my visit. He was typing during my visit and while I was speaking but I did not feel rushed or that he was being rude. He was just charting my responses. Asked me a set of questions pertaining to my issue and we talked about any concerns I had. Definitely will return back to his office and recommend him to my friends.
Direct and to the point. Quiet, but personable.
My appointments with Dr. Kaegi are always on time. I've never waited more than 5 min. He is matter of fact, straightforward and gets right to your issues. If that is the kind of doctor you are looking for, I recommend him. If you are looking for someone to chat with during your visit about matters not related to your appt, go somewhere else. This is likely why he is always prompt. He seems very knowledgeable about medications and mental illness and is willing to work with you until you find the right combination.
I love Dr. Kaegi. He's always patient and kind, takes my suggestions on what I think would help me most without judgement, offers helpful advice. Makes getting my medications easy. Dr. Kaegi was there for me many years ago when I could not find another doctor to see me quickly and help me get on medication. I've come back again after some time off meds now, because I need treatment again and he's welcomed me back and made it easy to get the help I need.
Professional and provides sound advice on issues discussed.
Even though I was totally late (I had the wrong time in my calendar) Dr Kaegi made an effort to squeeze me in. Thanks!
Dr. KAEGI is very professional specialist and nice person.
The online registration was great and it eliminated all of the forms in the office.
Very professional & informative. Would strongly recommend him.
Dr. Kaegi came across as completely disinterested in my case and unwilling to work with me to find a medication for my anxiety and depression that would not interfere with treatment for an eating disorder. More importantly, he told me it was fine to stop taking Prozac cold turkey, which is simply negligent advice. I would never recommend him.
I've had therapists for years. There's always been part of me that has expected psychiatrists to be the same way. It always seemed strange that you would go into the field of mental health while being so cold and unfeeling. I braced myself for that before I went. Dr Kaegi met all of my expectations and I will continue to see him. I can schedule appointments online and he continues to refill prescriptions I have had for years. He runs over a check list to see how I'm doing and issues me 6 months of refills. That's all I need out of a psychiatrist. I feel like I wouldn't really trust a diagnosis from him...he's great at medication management though.
He's quick and to the point while still showing a concern for his patients wellbeing. He's great, I wouldn't be comfortable with anyone else.
I trust Dr Kaegi and feel well cared for!
Always on time and pleasant
Very professional. Efficiently run office.
Gets down to business, zero wait time on a Saturday, friendly guy. Wouldn't recommend if you're looking for a very conversational psych, but great otherwise.
Dr. Kaegi is by far one of my least rated doctors I have seen over the years. He never smiles, provides eye contact, or shows any empathy during visits and is more focused on staring at his computer screen the entire visit. He never explains his thoughts and instead is focused on checking your blood pressure and printing out prescriptions from his behemoth computer. Would not recommend.
He's the best phychaiatrist I have ever had. I couldn't function without him
Came to him regarding very troubling side effects with my meds. Awful bedside manner. Told me I "should just be grateful I was stable." Will not be going back.
I have been a patient of Dr. Kaegi's for 10 years. He is a good listener, and never makes you feel rushed. Always on time.
Been here twice, Dr. Kaegi has been very straightforward and professional. I've only waited at most a minute or two, but the visit itself doesn't feel rushed; he lets me go through my questions. Only downside is from my location it takes forever to get there by public transit, but you make have better luck. Highly recommended!
My appointment was with Dr. Kaegi was awful. He was rude and totally distant. Calls his patients "customers" instead of patients. I felt attacked and uncomfortable from the second I set foot in the ugly outdated waiting room. Such a waste of time and over all a discouraging experience.
Great Dr.! Definitely recommend!
There was barely any wait time at all. Once I finished my paperwork, I was in. He gave me exactly the right medication for my condition. He has a great, non judgemental bedside manner. This is definitely my new psychiatrist.
Dr. Kaegi always sees you right on time and has you in and out which I really appreciate. He's not super chatty but he is professional and has a calming, reassuring demeanor that I like. Highly recommend him if you don't need lots of talking with your MD.
Very good visit
Nothing exceptional. He doesn't seem to care that much about me, but I don't really care that much about him so I guess fair is fair. In the end it was timely, accepted my insurance, and he prescribed what I needed without any issues. I had only seen him once before but we had emailed the previous week a bit and he had no memory of that. He also did not consult any notes about me our my condition during our appointment.
Personable, quick, and efficient.
Dr. Kaegi meets my needs 100%. It is very hard to find a psychiatrist who takes my insurance and has convenient scheduling--that is, I can usually get in to see him with relatively short notice (through this app). If you are looking for a psychiatrist who provides medication management plus psychotherapy, expect to pay out of pocket. It is best to come in prepared to describe what specific symptoms you are having and their intensity, how long you have been feeling this way, and what types of medications you are interested in exploring. Your visit will be maximized this way.
He was great.
I'll wait for results.
Always professional and caring
Short wait time and very efficient and thorough!
You will like dr Kaegi if you know what medications you want. He will give them to you, just ask. You will not like Dr Kaegi if you're looking for a deep-thinking psychiatrist who analyzes patients holistically. If it's difficult for you to talk to a dr about your problems, he is not for you. He is not, by any stretch of the imagination, an engaging conversationalist. He is also not a therapist or counselor by any means. He's a medical doctor who specializes in medications. He conducts his visits by asking you a series of questions and immediately asking what medications you've tried and what you like. If you need xanax, no need to beat around the bush. Just ask. One thing he is not, to his credit, is judgemental. His office is pretty lame; there's not even a receptionist. It's just two old doctors in a dusty old office in a blandly decorated office park in sauganash. However, if you need medication, he will accommodate you.
Dr. Kaegi is on time and efficient. He allows you to ask questions and is willing to listen to your issues.
Dr. Kaegi is exceptionally professional and listens to his patients carefully.
Not very friendly or empathetic
Dr Kaegi is very patient and understanding .
Dr. Kaegi is very professional and thorough, and has a kind demeanor. I highly recommend him. However, he needs to add more essential oil to his diffuser for optimal benefits. :)
Dr Kaegi is super easy to talk to and incredibly open minded with his medications, my ADHD is managed and he's always sure to make sure I'm okay with the dosage. Checks my weight and blood pressure every visit to ensure although I may not notice, my body is still functioning healthily.
Diligent and professional.
Dr. Kaegi was very professional and friendly, definitely going to keep seeing him.
The man does not over book appointments, waiting time is a few minutes and He is very professional. 10 stars if possible. He is on top of his profession!
Good as always!
I trust Dr. Kaegi with medical decisions concerning my mental health. He is efficient and thorough, but not friendly, and that works perfectly for my needs. My depression has improved greatly under Dr. Kaegi's care. I appreciate his no-nonsense, results-oriented approach.
Very polite very thorough and efficient feel very comfortable with him nice man glad I ended up with him
Took me right on time! Was easy to talk to and understood what I needed.
Dr. Kaegi did not recognize me, ever, and was extremely rude to me when I asked he refill a script for me early (I travel for work). Instead of letting me know which pharmacies would fill my script early (Walgreens wouldn't) he instead forced me to constantly contact/follow up with him asking how I could get the script early. He ended up re-writing a script and I went to his office to pick it up (this took several back and forth emails, he would not give me a date and time to pick it up); he then had the audacity to ask me not to come back to his office. His email exchange was extremely rude and unhelpful. He did not return any of my calls. Truly doesn't care about his patients and doesn't even bother to look at your name from his initial records before seeing you. I do not recommend.
Ive been seeing Dr. Kaegi for a few months now, and hes never been the warmest person but it was fine until our last appointment when my questions about a medication he was recommending was met with a sarcastic answer about my depression. I wont be seeing him again.
Fast and to the point. Highly efficient.
I was disappointed to learn that Dr. Kaegi does not understand my need to have my animals classified as service animals. Because I am bipolar, I have difficulty maintaining a schedule. I can sleep for days and stay up for days. With the responsibility of my very insistent cats, I always have to get up, feed them, and, most importantly, look forward to coming home. I don't think I could handle life without them!
Always a pleasant experience. He's open to dialogue with the patient to find what treatment works best. Also, he and his staff are very flexible and accommodating for those times when life throws you a split seam slider across the outside corner of the plate, with a 2-2 count; runners on first and third.
Very professional. Covered under my insurance. Did a full assessment of multiple systems - in addition to psychiatric concerns, reviewed medical history, took baseline vitals. Discovered vital sign which was abnormal. Alerted me to a potential family issue which may need addressing by general practitioner based upon examination. Prescribed conservatively and explained pros and cons of various different medications and medication types. Reviewed my prior medications to ensure no contraindications. My examination by Dr. Kaegi was as thorough, if not more thorough, as I expected from a psychiatrist and M.D. Demonstrated knowledge of various different conditions and effects of medications on specific conditions. Little to no wait. Very respectful and honest. Overall very professional and seemed to genuinely be concerned with my overall well-being, not just the specific chief complaint which brought me into the office. Not interested in pushing medications or doing anything which may adversely affect my overall health or mental health. Good experience.
Always thorough, kind and professional.
I was initially taken aback when he didn't shake my hand when we first met. I thought I was the only one that isn't thrilled with Dr. Kaegi's demeanor. I feel like I'm just a lab rat in his office. He seems to only cares about data points, not the person. I'm considering finding another doctor.
Not satisfied with my care with Dr. Kaegi. He's lacking adequate bedside manners, pushes medications even with my concerns, doesn't make eye contact. He simply asks questions listed on his computer and types he entire time. I don't feel supported in wanting to wean off my Rx and feel he is just doing the bare minimum to get me in and out for the copay.
This was a different type of doctors office to me than what I am used to, but Dr. Kaegi was very helpful. He is straight forward and professional. The office is small and in kind of an older building, but his office decorations were interesting enough to hold my attention while waiting.
Persistent and accurate. Very to the point. He is not a beat around the bush person.
Dr. Kaegi was very polite and professional. I will be making another appointment.
Efficient, professional and most excellent - as always!
Excellent doctor but not a real people person.
Excellent, highly recommended!
Dr Kaegi is an exceptional doctor. He has been my doctor since December, 2017.. He is beyond caring, considerate, compromising and highly intelligent, just to name a few. I am beyond grateful to have him as my doctor.
not very warm and welcoming. felt rushed
He always takes me early, nothing negative to say! Highly recommend! Love Dr. Kaegi !!
He provided our clients with good service and attention and our organization with the necessary paperwork..
Dr. Kaegi is a reliable, thoughtful, and a knowledgeable psychiatrist. His ability to pinpoint psychiatric maladies is quite amazing and he's very detailed.
Having a rough time and Dr. Kaegi helped. What more can I ask?
very pleasant and trustworthy
I have been with dr. Kaegi for many years. I find that as long as I'm honest open and willing? I can't trust myself and I can trust him. Doctor is a good listener and respect his patients.
He is very businesslike and no nonsense. Dont expect a friendly or sympathetic bedside manner. He wants the facts from you and he will give you the medication that you need. Dont take up too much time, he will get mad. This is an assembly line. He's a decent doctor but dont expect too much.
I have never received treatment from someone so condescending before. He makes it pretty apparent that he does not have patience for his clients and their issues. He is direct however his tone is judgmental and insulting. It is a private practice so he makes it apparent that you are "running on his time." He lacks passion when it comes to being sensitive to his clients. He has an arrogant attitude when approaching his client. He lacks attempt to having desire when helping those in needs of extra mental health support. HIGHLY not recommended.
Straight-forward doctor. Expect to be in and out quickly.
Visits with Dr. Kaegi are always good. I never have to wait. He is very good at what he does. I highly recommend him!
Great doctor with a no nonsense attitude. I told him why I was there, he asked me some relative questions, and I was on my way with what I needed. It was neither pleasant, nor was it at all unpleasant. If you're looking to have a chat, I'd recommend another doctor, but I found him perfectly adequate for my needs.
Friendly, considerate of my personal concerns, and knowledgeable about the solutions that would best meet my specific needs.
I was very reluctant to see a psychiatrist for the longest time. I took a chance based on his reviews and am very glad I did! Dr. Kraege was very calm and professional. I felt like I was heard and my concerns were taken seriously. He efficiently came to a diagnosis, made a plan TOGETHER, and answered all my questions.
Good bedside manner.
I'm a nurse and a good judge of drs. This guy is very thorough and knows his stuff!
The best doctor.
I gave him good ratings when I rated him earlier (I don't rate every time I go), but I've become increasingly disenchanted with him. He's great on scheduling as he uses Zoc Doc and never keeps you waiting and always stays on time. What has been bothering me more and more is that his demeanor, while very professional, seems less curious and not very pro-active. I've been on the same med regimen for several years and have been becoming more systematic for over the last 6-7 months. I'm a very compliant, track my condition and eager for help, yet he types what I say in the computer and prints out the same prescriptions each time I see him, usually while I'm speaking. Even my therapist has become concerned and I've asked to try anything that might help as I know meds can become less effective over time, He asked me to make suggestions for meds to try! In my opinion, he is a great doctor for someone who is at the early stages of their mental health journey, being diagnosed and determining a drug regimen, if necessary. He might also be good for those who do not care for a psychiatrist who gets overly-involved, doing a semi-therapy while they are in-office, He is definitely unflappable and no drama. After months of thought, I believe I'm going to start looking for another doctor, despite hating to do it. This is only my fourth in 20 years and only the second I've left because of feeling my needs were not met. He may meet yours, though.
Just fine, as usual.
helpful and efficient
So I've been seeing Dr. Kaegi for just over a year for depression/anxiety and after the the initial consultation (which consisted of a few questions and questionaire which took a mere 5-10 min), he put me onto a new drug, Lamictal, which supplemented the Lexapro my general physician had put me onto a few years ago. A few months after that, we did a check-in of course and we upped the dosage slightly. Fast forward to last month: I've been feeling great which was not due to the Lamictal but rather an alternative outside-the-box non-prescription medicine I discovered that works for me better than anything in the past: not therapy, not depression meds, nothing. He of course didn't support my finding and condemned it of course (which I was not surprised by since he's of the older generation and very open-minded) and because there wasn't any official studies, he was quick to ignore over 2 months of amazing behavior/attitude that I tried to communicate to him. Whatever...like I said, I wasn't surprised at all which isn't what really frustrated me. What really frustrated me was the following: So I made the appointment to not only share with him my newfound discovery mentioned above but to also ask him if I could go off one of the meds to test it out and see if I could permanently remove it from my body's use. So he goes, "Well we can slow you off of the Lexapro but not the Lamictal for your bipolar." He never ever once told me that he diagnosed me with having Bipolar II over a year ago and I was shocked. I was like "wait, bipolar, i'm not bipolar...". Then we got into a mild argument about him never communicating that to me and then he made the comment that I came to him already being on Lamictal and then I had to correct him and tell him that "No, you were the one to put me onto Lamictal!" which he denied for a min until he shuffled pages on his computer and finally found where he in-fact did prescribe it to me. So, out of frustration, he responds verbatim with "So what do you want to do?" And I'm like, "Well, what do you think, you're the dang doctor???". He was trying to get me out of his office and I kept the conversation going because we're talking about my own mental health here, which he completely disregarded. He might of once been a great psychiatrist, but there is no way in my opinion, that he should continue practicing medicine. He does not truly care about his patients and tries to get you in and out of his office as quick as possible. it's basically a drive-thru business. I wish I read some of the reviews of him over a year ago before I set up my initial consultation with him because there are plenty of reviews like the one I'm addressing now. I will never ever seek his advice again. He should retire as soon as possible because he no longer puts his patients first.
very concerned dr,took immediate measures to change my meds and LOTS of good advice
It was good. Although he did stop the meeting to reply to a text.
Straight to the point. Great doctor
He was great, very calm and easy to talk to. Got the needed info but not invasive, also was very informative and seemingly flexible in explaining my options. I was in and out in less than half an hour and I am not complaining!
He never took the time to introduce himself, and barely looked at me throughout the course of the appointment. Essentially he just went through a long list of basic questions, which he wanted the shortest possible answers for, and stared at his computer screen. At the end of the visit he suggested a medication, ran my credit card, then said goodbye, completely forgetting to actually give me a prescription until I asked about it. All in all he didn't seem to care much about me as a patient, kind of just seemed like he was going through the motions. Probably won't be returning.
I'm so glad I don't have to convince him that I'm depressed or that I'm struggling with anxiety. It is so comforting to have a doctor who respects you enough to believe you when you say I need help. I can't keep going on like this. I have battled depression, anxiety, ADD and sleep problems. I'm so relieved and blessed to have a doctor who understands what a struggle that is!
Dr. Kaegi was kind, thorough, and succinct. He listened to my experiences and provided a medical solution to help.
Very pleased with Dr. Kaegi and his professionalism. I would recommend him to anyone.
He was cruel, suspicious and condescending. I came to him needing a new doctor - as I couldn't see my old doctor due to an insurance change. He refused to offer me care. He was incredibly unprofessional and unkind. I have shared his name and my experience throughout the city so no one has to go through what I went through with him. I considered reporting my experience for a long time but didn't want to cause any problems with existing patients that might rely on him.
Great appointment - Dr. Kaegi made me feel extremely comfortable and walked me through all options available for the challenges I'm currently facing. Highly recommended!
COURTTIOUS, PROFFESIONAL, VERY HELPFULL
All of my experiences interacting with Dr. Kaegi have been positive. He is very thoughtful and considerate. He has worked with me to make sure that I can get access to medication for my issue with anxiety. When I changed insurance providers Dr. Kaegi was more than happy to update my file. I enjoy my visits with Dr. Kaegi and I highly recommend him to anyone who is looking for assistance from a psychiatrist.
He was very friendly and easy to talk to. He didn't rush me, and he's the best psychiatrist I've seen. I have no complaints!
Very professional and knowledgeable. Happy to have him as my doctor.
Dr. Kaegi has helped me manage my disease. He strongly considers my thoughts about how I am doing and what symptoms should be addressed. He provides information about treatment options but generally lets me make the final choice. I have been able to keep a good job for several years and my marriage is much more stable now. I am now able to manage my life and daily challenges more effectively. I still have rough times, but I'm able to cope. It took some time, but life is improving now. I'm still on the journey of managing my disease, but things are improving. Thanks Dr. Kaegi.
I always leave Dr. Kaegi's office feeling confident in his expertise and care. He takes an appropriate amount of time asking questions and listening, and I believe that he has the patient's best interest in mind when making recommendations.
very short spoken and to the point, quick and efficient, no bs doctor.
He was very professional and kind. He Asked questions and waited patiently for answers. Seemed to have a sense of humor, too. It was a nice visit.
He was very careful with the medications he is comfortable prescribing, which makes it appear to me that he cares about his patients. He was very nice, even though his voicemail recording sounds like he doesn't care about his patients. I would give this visit a 4/5.
As a medical student, aware of 'good' and 'bad' doctors, I can honestly say that this guy rocks. He's helped me tremendously. I gave three stars for bedside manner because I prefer a doctor who knows his shit then one who fakes it by being 'nice.' Plus, when visits are so short these days, bedside manner is kind of a joke. Don't get me wrong he's polite, but I prefer a doctor who knows his shit and listens, than one who's 'nice.' This guy will get you sorted out - he's very very sharp.
Kind and thorough.
Great as always!
So far, the experience is not totally bad because I feel that the doctor seems to know what he's doing and the medication is working, but he's a little like a robot. He doesn't look you in the eyes and he follows a script of standard questions. He gives you medication options right away and not a lot of guidance. I wanted to talk about alternatives to medication, for instance, which I had to bring up. I had to ask him a bunch of questions about how each pill works, possible side effects and general questions regarding my wellbeing. If you don't ask about your concerns, he'll send you information to make sense if it on your own.
I feel comfortable talking to Dr. Kaegi.
This was a negative, disappointing experience. I wasn't talking to a person, but a robot who mechanically stared at his computer, asking me a long list of questions, having me fill out a questionnaire. When I told him what I'd like to get out of the experience (not only medication, but guidance about some questions in life), he cut me off and said you'll have to get that from your therapist, I only do medication. When I walked in, I found that his office was taken up by an enormous desk and so we sat across from each other with this behemoth in between us. It wasn't a session with a psychiatrist, but a job interview. His bedside manner had no empathy, no humanity to it. I observed him for half an hour and concluded that there's no way I could trust him to see me as a human and make decisions in my best interest. Not recommended. At all.
I visited this doctor twice. First time he was very harsh and seemed to be just rushing me out of the room. I'm used to dealing with "rough around the edges people" he was beyond that. He overcharged me both times as well, a full hour for a 10 minutes appointment? His office is difficult to get too as well.
Dr Kaegi actually took me 30 minutes sooner than my appointment! I love him! Always professional always helpful definitely recommend
I've been seeing him for almost two years now or maybe more. He's always been great when I see him.
Dr. Kaegi was very helpful. He was a good listener and a caring professional.
Always pleasant, patient and willing to listen/problem solve.
I had my 2nd appt just yesterday, 1/12/17. A side from Dr. Kaegi owning qualities such as caring, understanding and patience, (along w many others, as I listed in my first review) I learned a few more yesterday, that are extremely rare to come by. Dr. Kaegi shows concern and compassion, as he listens to you and what you want/need in the most NON-judgmental manner. Customizing/formulating a regimen that works in your best interest and you are happy with. He is extremely intelligent, honest and compromising. I would continue to be lost, as I was, without him. Thank you Dr. K, for already making a difference in my life. -iz
He was very friendly and professional! I haven't been around many doctors but I have been around people that care and his calm demeanor shows me that he takes his job seriously. I would definitely recommend this doctor to anyone.
I saw Dr. Kaegi for the first time on Monday, December 19th. Although it has been about 3 weeks since my visit, writing this review is something I have been eager to do within the first 10 minutes of meeting him. I ran almost an hour late, due to an accident on the way. Dr. Kaegi not only understood (especially considering how busy he is) but made time to still see me between other patients as opposed to turning me away. He also took his time with me, (as I felt nowhere near rushed) asking me several questions along with written quiz-like questionnaires, so that he was able to determine the healthiest most effective way to treat me. I could honestly say I immediately took comfort with Dr. Kaegi. He is nothing short of everything one would want as their Doctor. He is intelligent, kind, patient, caring, selfless and what I appreciated most NONjudgemental. You truly walk away confidently knowing that he only wants what is in your best interest. I have never posted a review about anything before. However, I was dedicated to posting this one about my experience in regard to a wonderful and beyond deservant Doctor. For the first time in a long, long time, I feel good and positive within myself and for my future as I take absolute comfort that I finally have the right guidance. I couldn't be happier with my decision to see Dr. Kaegi, nor could I be more grateful to have him recommended to me.
Honest, professional and appropriately candid.
I was referred to Dr Kaegi by my GP to discuss medications to address insomnia and lethargy. Within 6 months, I had made significant progress. I am NOT there for psychotherapy, so I have no expectations in that regard. He is careful about prescribing medication, so don't expect a pushover. He's very calming and efficient. I go in every three months to review medications so he can monitor their efficacy. We works for me!
Excellent as usual. We get to the point quickly and discuss the best solution. Dr. Kaegi is a good listener, and I can tell that he really cares. I really appreciate him. That is why I have kept him as my doctor for all of these years!!
Was very rude judgemental and made me feel like I was an addict and I am apposed hurt me bad I was crying
Dr Kaegi has cared for me as a patient for many years! I am very pleased with his care!
I've been a patient of Dr. Kaegi's for quite some time and I really like him. He's a very easy-going guy and I trust him.
Always professional, and respectful of patients' time.
Dr. Kaegi was never rude or unkind in any way, but I felt his bedside manner was curt. Appointments felt rushed and had little eyecontact. If straight to the point is your style, this is your guy, sadly, that was not the case with me.
Professional, courteous, and on time.
My visits were great with Dr. Kaegi
Great psychiatrist, very straight forward and to the point. Perfect for someone who has already had treatment and has moved to the area. I only used him to help continue a treatment that has worked for me and he was very helpful and understanding in the treatment of my ongoing struggles with ADHD.
He is very effective, easy to talk to, and very succint!
Always on time, fast and very accurate. Very good about handling refills and does everything on computer which I really like.
So, after reading some reviews and having been to this Doctor several times I've decided to write a review to help people looking for a new Psychiatrist. First things first. He's not a therapist, he's not a psychologist. He mostly evaluates and prescribes based on that evaluation. He's not overly personable, and for me, that's a plus, but I can see how that's a turn off for others. His tone can come off as clipped, and I can see how he could sound condescending but, at this point, I'm pretty sure it's unintentional. Some people kind of sound bored all time, it's like resting mad face, but with their voice. For all that I like him, however, I can not, honestly, recommend this guy as a starting point. If you can afford to, I'd recommend you start with a therapist/psychologist and then transfer their suggestions(in paper form) over to him. That's what I did and it seemed to make everything smoother. If you're transferring doctors, be sure to bring him your medical records from the old office. Dude loves his notes and records. It should probably make getting your medications a little bit easier. I've never had a problem with him being openly skeptical even after I explained that while I've never had drug problem, various addictions run in my family. He seemed to note it and while testing various strengths we started small with a weeks worth at a time before making a decision that we were both happy with. TL;DR If you're looking for in depth care, calls and followups. Someone to have intense 30 minutes sessions with, who will also prescribe you different medications for your changing needs. Keep looking. Or get a therapist and use this dude for prescriptions that the Therapist can't write. If you've got a well managed, well documented condition that requires medication, and you're looking for an efficient MD with flexible time slots? He's perfect, you've found him. He's here. As for more mundane things, he does not do refills without an office visit. Don't have the pharmacy contact him, it's clearly on the door, he doesn't do them. Probably cause you're supposed to keep going back to him for evaluation. He can get pretty behind some days but I think all doctors can. Sometimes it's only by like 10 minutes, sometimes it's by half an hour. I recommend showing up early for your appointment because sometimes if the scheduled person isn't there on time he'll let you "eat" their time cause you are there. You snooze you lose. And while he doesn't have a receptionist he does have a secretary of sorts that helps him out. I don't know much about them besides me correcting a minor billing error.
Wont ever see him again.
I guess psychiatrists nowadays don't "do" therapy....just push big Pharma as a solution instead of finding a true resolution of the problem. So be it....gets me through life.
I feel that as a psychiatrist, he could have been more welcoming and personable. Instead, I felt no sort of comfort seeking help from him. It was all very cut and dry.
Dr Kaegi is always respectful to my imput reguarding medication. He carefully weighs all options every visit and always makes me feel like he 100% present and vested in my health and wellness. Thank you Dr Kaegi!
Not very friendly just to the point
Dr. Kaegi is a delight, very professional and detailed in his approach. Highly recommended.
Wait times have gotten better lately.
I made an error and thought he was still in my insurance network. He corrected me, I apologized for wasting his time, and got up to go. I was upset and teary, and he suggested the ER - as if that would do anything. The second I began to show one shred of emotion, he shut down. Told me "I don't like this. I can't help you." And threw me out - while talking to my roommate like she was my mother. Don't go see this man if you're female or you have visible emotions. Because God forbid a psychiatrist understand that depressed people may become upset. What an utter jerk.
The doctor is efficient, professional, and works hard at getting effective results. He seeks information from his patients and listens before providing a course of treatment.
He was cold and dismissive--barely made eye contact with me during the visit. I would not recommend this doctor.
Dr. Kaegi is very matter of fact and clinical-- a great fit for me and how I choose to approach the topic of mental health. I suspect it may feel a bit sterile to some or those who are new to psychiatric treatment but, for those who are interested in discussing challenges and solutions (vs. strictly feelings), he is a great option.
Pill pusher. I made an appointment in hopes of receiving help with my depression and then meds i had been described by my GP. Waste of time and money. I'm more upset now then I was before the appointment. Shouldn't leave a psychiatrists office in tears, but I sure did. He is not a welcoming person, very cold, barely made eye contact. Would not recommend, unless you need a prescription refill.
I've been seeing Dr Kaegi for a few years now and my appointments are always thorough and easy.
Excellent. Brief And to the point. This works out perfectly fine for me. Good listener.
He's very professional and respectful
Competent, professional...I feel like I am in good hands.
I look forward to working with Dr. Kaegi. He is experienced,, competent and thorough. He is highly recommended by my M.D. :)
Very dismissive to your experience ...."you can go see someone else for a different opinion "..seriously?
Very professional, great listener. Made me feel like he cared about my situation. Highly recommended.
Dr. Charles Kaegi is an amazing medical doctor he explains everything in detail to me and he's very nice not like all my other doctors that were rude and wanted you in and out he's the total opposite! I would highly recommend him!
Always 5 stars would give him more if I could.
If you're the type of person who likes to have some sort of relationship with your doctor then don't see him. It's clear that he doesn't care about his patients. I called him when I was in the hospital having a mental breakdown due to the medication that HE gave me and he didn't even bother to return my call. By far the worst doctor I have ever met.
Very professional but has a great understand about my condition and helped work with to get a good "cocktail". I would highly recommend him.
This doctor has a morality issue w/ some of the meds that a shrink is able to prescribe. A moral doctor. hahah. He refuses to dispense benzos even if you've been on them for years. And when asked about the withdrawls and hospitalization I'd have to go through w/o meds he acted like it was no big deal. If you want to see someone who treats you like a drug addict, by all means tell dr. death I say hi.
I didn't like him at all, his office was self service, it didn't seem professional, I thought he was arrogant, and has too many patients to give you any proper attention. I felt like I was just a $Number$ to him. He has signs on his door stating that any refills of medication will only be given on an office visit, meaning, your pharmacist will not get any authorizations when you need re fills. Also, when filling out his paperwork I noticed he has a schedule of fees he charges for anything that is not handled during your 10 minute office visit. I want a doctor that works for me around my schedule and not the other way around. Don't waste your time with this guy, he's all about himself and what he can get out of you! I wouldn't recommend him for my dog, let alone an emotionally connected patient!
It was a good visit He is very competent and I feel that I am being skillfully treated. Office is easy to get to and his hours work with my tight schedule.
Great doctor .
Dr. Kaegi is thorough and professional.
I thought he was very professional and thurough. Look forward future appointments
He is not willing to spend the time required to understand what the issues are, just want you to come with ready in your mind problems so he can write a prescription, 15' is way to little to book the apts for.
Nice and understanding. Would recommend to those who have recently moved to the area and are looking for a doctor who will help with previous mental health history
Dr. Kaegi was pleasant, went over my information quickly but thoroughly, and I was satisfied with the plan for treatment. I do plan to return.
He was very knowledgeable and was able to provide me with alternatives previous physicians failed to consider.
He's very quiet and a little bit clinical in his approach, and I was used to a very outgoing psychiatrist which made me a bit skeptical, but when he does give feedback you can tell he's only being so quiet because he's really listening to what you're saying and taking everything into consideration. Once the session was over, I left feeling like he'd heard everything I was trying to say and relieved because of that.
Things have improved for me under Dr. Kaegi's special knowledge of my medication issues.
Dr. Kaegi means well, but has a condescending tone at all times.
Doctor looked was on 45' schedule tough to explain everything especially when you see him for the first time.
Very professional, and expects patient to be professional as well.
He's very professional
I always feel very comfortable speaking with Dr. Keagi, he helps me by letting me speak about my concerns that I have and had and he is genuinely concerned about how I deal with my issues and his advice in helping me resolve them. He has never been judgmental or put me down for what I didn't handle or make the correct decisions on. He just explains and helps me understand where and what I did wrong so I make the correct decisions the next time I face those problems.
I have very bad depuration since I lost my son this is the best doctor I ever food .
Soft spoken conscientious, personable.
I very much appreciated Dr. Kaegi's professional manner and direct communication style. It is obvious that he has a great deal of knowledge, but he speaks at a level that a patient can understand, without condescending. I found him to be entirely non-judgmental; interested only in getting an appropriate diagnosis and treatment plan. He is quite thorough, and spent more time with me than I have come to expect from any other doctor. This gave me a great deal of confidence in his diagnosis, as he came to it only after gathering all the knowledge that he required. Other doctors that I have been to seem to want to just get patients in and out with a prescription in their hand and often after jumping to the quickest conclusion. I am so relieved that I have found a competent doctor that I like and trust.
I have been with dr Kaegi for almost two years only because switching doctors is so hard to do, Doctor switching can become illegal and it makes it even harder for a new doctor to trust you. I feel as it I have to beg for my meds, he asked why I need them and makes you go into graphic detail of things that make you uncomfortable and then types about 3 words on his computer and may tell you that's not good enough or "he's not comfortable with you"..... So yeah he sucks but if you NEED meds he will give them to you after you beg and cry.
Very happy about my visit!
I just thought he seemed very out of touch not very interested in helping despite that i didn't need medication.
Small comfortable office, easy to get to and a lot of parking available. He is a nice person but very "dry personality". I know he is not a Therapist, so talking in detail in not necessarily his job though he was very to the point.. What is your issue? What have you tried in the past? Sign this, check here and go take this medication. I was hoping for a bit more personalized of a visit & have since "cured" myself on my own as I did not like his recommendations. If what you want is to walk in and be handed a prescription, that is what you will get. If you want help with understanding your issue or multiple methods of curing it.. this is not the place to go. (long wait since appointment to review as I only use this to make appointments with new doctors)
I enjoyed my visit with Dr. Kaegi and am glad that it was easy to find a regular psychiatrist. I look forward to working with him in the future.
I was trying to move to a closer psych but the Dr. didn't like any of my established medications that I have been helping me for years. He was giving me ultimatums on my first visit. I will not see him again.
I was favorably impressed with his professionalism. He was easy to talk to and covered all my concerns.
Dr Kaegi was referred to me by my therapist after trying to find an in-network insurance provider. He's very thorough, listens attentively, doesn't just prescribe to prescribe and listens and values the patient's feedback. Highly recommend and a phenomenal doctor who is very knowledgeable.
Dr. Kaegi is wonderful. He is able to get me the care I need in a very professional manner. I would recommend him highly.
Kind of cold and clinical. Which some people prefer. The judgement, however, was decidedly unhelpful. When a patient comes to a psychiatrist having gone off their meds and feeling unstable, chastising them is generally a bad idea. When dealing with mental illness, I recommend some compassion.
He's so pleasant, and definitely one of the best!
Very kind and understanding
I was concerned Dr Kaegi would just write a prescription and send me on my way. he really listened and gave me strategies to try before I resort to medicine. Am very grateful for his approach.
He's a very understanding man. I'm happy I chose Dr. Kaegi as my physiatrist
Very pleased. Found a good medication for me.
Dr Kaegi is a joy??
He didn't even look at me during the appointment - just stared into the screen of his computer and shot generic questions at me. He wanted me to change my existing meds even though I told him they were working well. My impression is that he's goes strictly by the FDA guidelines in his little book, and does't think outside of the box or prescribe anything off label. I'm very proactive in my mental health treatment and have done a lot of research on psychiatric medications. If I hadn't found a creative psychiatrist willing to to listen to my input and let me experiment with different modalities of treatment, I would never have gotten stabilized. From my limited experience with Dr. Kaegi, I'd have to say that he's not that kind of doctor. He's a little on the condescending side and it's clearly his way or the highway.
He seems better than previous doctor!
Excellent as usual. This time there was absolutely no waiting which was great !!! I am so grateful to have Dr. Kaegi as my psychiatrist. We are pretty much on the same page when it comes to my treatment, which in turn results in expeditious appointments.
He is adequate for prescbing meds.
He is very attentive to my concerns and provides exceptional expertise.
Terrible. On a strict clock. Says to do one thing and when you call back doing what he said he tells you just to come in for another appointment. Clearly in it for the money more than the well being of his patients.
My first visit I saw him right away. I guess this Friday was just busy because of the holiday weekend. I was seen within 20min though. He's great, listens to you, asks the right questions to help you quickly, efficiently and still be sure it's the right treatment plan for you. He's also been wonderful about helping me find the right medication. I haven't had any luck because of side effects impeding my life (mainly work). All in all, I think he's kind and caring and worth a visit if you are in need of some help.
Dr Kaegi is attentive and has helped me immensely.
Very understanding and helpful in addressing my needs.
Best doctor ever! My insurance no longer covers my visits so I pay out of pocket. Gladly too! Dr. Kaegi is attentive and extremely professional.
He listens & asks questions. Very thorough !
Dr. Kaegi is always very patient and listens to me when I have concerns. He also lets me have a great deal of input when selecting treatment options. However, he is not a push-over.
wonderful experience every time. Dr. Kaegi listens, asks the right questions and helps me each time I see him!
This man is definitely not genuinely interested in his patients, he just wants to get you in and out as fast as possible. It's so clear that he's only in it for the money.
Great listener and easy to talk with.
I suffer from epilepsy and was told by my medical team that I should seek complementary treatment for my anxiety related disorder that would not complicate my seizures. Dr. Kaegi told me my ONLY option was to take a medication that would increase my seizures and was not approved by my team of neurologists.
Right to the point, listens well. Has my best interest in mind rather than the drug company or the insurance. I never feel intimidated. His wife handles the billing and she is also very pleasant to deal with.
Took me right away when I called - next day. Asked good questions. Adjusted my meds
Clearly experienced, honest, professional. Asked good questions. Felt heard and understood.
Dr. Kaegi is straight to the point. He cares about how you're feeling and really tell you the possible side effects.
Doctors very good listenerAlso very calm and relaxing to talk to
On time appointment, clean waiting area & restroom.
It went well
I am pleased with Dr. Kaegi is a great Physiatrist. I am very comfortable with him. He always makes sure I get the best medication to deal with my depression.
I really enjoyed working with him and will continue to see him
He was straightforward and gave me all of the information I needed to make some decisions. He took my whole history into account, which I really appreciated.
If you are a female with PTSD and/or an eating disorder---DO NOT SEE THIS DOCTOR. I was more triggered with this man than I have been with any doctor (and I've been in treatment for 8 years!). After telling him that I had an NOS eating disorder he preceded to ask my weight very coldly. When I said a range of weights because I don't weigh myself due to the disorder he coldly forced me to choose just one number. I felt extremely vulnerable and like if I didn't sit and be obedient he would not give me medication refills. I was afraid to write a review for a long time because of how sick it made me feel. I felt I had to in order to protect other people from having the same experience.
It was great. He always listens to me and address all my concerns.
Quick appointments . Free samples.
Thorough and almost painless!
I thought it was great. It was only my first appointment with him but I'm sure that I'll be going to him for a long time.
My meeting with Dr. Kaegi was quick, pleasant, and to-the-point. He was able to see me within 15 minutes of arriving, and upon entering, was willing to listen to my symptoms and provide a good treatment plan. The only downside is his office lobby, which was dated and depressing.
Very professional and to the point, if a little intimidating sometimes. Nice waiting room and good availability. Certainly the strictest with prescriptions I've ever had - won't call in prescriptions over the phone when needed, which can be stressful when you can't get an appointment on time. Getting there is easy (about 20 minutes from the city) with easily available parking.
He is a very kind man and easy to talk to - great doctor who I will definitely continue to see!
Dr. Kaegi was very calm and straight to the point. He seemed to have my best interest in mind. I will continue seeing him.
Easy to talk to and very informative about symptoms and medications.
I have been going to Dr. Kaegi for about a year now since my brothers passing. He has been great and listens to what is going on in my life. He has always been polite and friendly and asks my opinion on what medication I am taking. Really enjoy him and he has been a life saver for me.
The visit was perfect. As soon as I walked in the door I was called in.. Everything went smoothly... We even laughed a bit which was pleasant. Dr. Kaegi is a great doctor and seems like a very nice person overall. I reckommend him very much!
He actually listens to your needs!!!
Dr. Kaegi seems to genuinely have best interest of patient in mind
He was professional and on the pleasant side.
Really enjoyed working with DR. Kaegi. He's competent and straightforward.
great doctor. I highly recommend him.
I'm feeling like we are improving our communication!
Very efficient and kind.
My visits with Dr. Kaegi is always very pleasant. He is very patient with me. It's always a wonderful experience. I would recommend him to anybody that needs help.
Dr. Kaegi is very professional, courteous, and thorough.
Highly professional and direct.
Highly recommend. Extremely professional and listens throughly. Excellent follow up!
Stay away from this one!
Dr. Kaegi is both professional and understanding. I'm confident in the decisions he made for my treatment and medication and highly recommend him to others.
Patient, polite, courteous, thorough.
The office feels like a last resort for desperate people on Medicaid, and Dr. K seems like a man who's dealt with the down and out so frequently he may be a bit jaded, but he took my insurance, helped me with what I needed and cracked a few smiles, so I'm satisfied.
My visit with Dr. Kaegi was wonderful. This was my second visit and he was very happy that things are going well for me.We discussed the treatment that I am going through and we are going to continue that treatment since it is working. We agreed that a 3 month follow-up is in order and I left feeling that I was well taken care of. I like his friendly quiet demeanor.
I told him my symptoms, he recommended a medication, I told him about this other medication that worked at a different point in my life, and he gave me a prescription to that because Kaegi cares about what works.
Dr. Kaegi is always professional, asks thoughtful questions, and I never feel like he is rushing me in any way. I also feel very comfortable asking him questions, which is not true for all doctors see.
Dr. Kaegi is a great doctor who will listen to what you have to say. He makes sure that he gets everything correct that you have said. If you have questions, he will answer them in a way that you can understand. He doesn't make you feel like something is wrong with you. He also works with you so that if something isn't working you can go back and see him and he will work with you to put you on something else. He is quick to get you in and his hours are great. They are convenient so that if you work a 9-5 job you can get in. He even has hours on Saturdays! His office location is easy to get to as well. I highly recommend him.
I have never been more humiliated in my life. This Dr was not only unprofessional but he made me feel as if he really dislikes Hispanics. My sister and I were the only ones that were not American there and when he first came out of his office (mind you he doesn't even have a receptionist) he looked at my sister and I as if we were aliens. He then proceeded to take all of his American patients and left us for last. Once it was my turn he literally walked out of the office with a patient and told me he will return shortly and that is after sitting there for two hours. He than returned about 15-20 minutes later and finally asked me to come into his office. After asking me questions about for another 1 hour he stated that he could not see me since I am a addict. I know that I have been prescribed many medications due to my Fibromyalgia and herniated disk on my back but I don't take the medication and I told him that I will be willing to take a drug test so that he can see I was not lying...he said he didn't want to "waste" his time with me. Worst visit EVER!
Fast and professional.
addressed my concerns
Excellent doctor that works with patient to get them the treatment they require.
He cares about me as a human being. I like the fact that I have to see him every month. He wants to make sure that I am doing well.
I used to see Dr. Kaegi until I moved away from his area. He is extremely professional and kind. I would highly recommend him to anyone.
Dr. Kaegi is professional and punctual! Very satisfied
Dr. Kaegi is nice and treated me for over a year. He is a bit cold and definitely a proponent of medicating for everything. Smart and well educated.
Thank you Dr Kaegi for the excellent care my Mom Recieved
Great doctor. He listened, asked me questions and was very nice, courteous and respectful. Would definitely return
Love Dr. Kaegi! Appointment was fast very nice and patient. Would recommend anyone going to him!
Dr. Kaegi had a horrible bedside manner and was very cold and uncaring. I'm extremely disappointed and confused because I was misled by all the other reviews of him on Zocdoc. Do not go to him if you're looking for a psychiatrist that will actually listen to your concerns. Definitely not someone that you want to be vulnerable around.
Really great - very to-the-point (which some people might not like, but I'm fine with). Asked detailed and relevant questions as he tried to sort through what was up with me. Gave me options and didn't try to just shove medications down my throat.
Dr. Kaegi is knowledgeable and answered my many questions easily and with care.
Despite having seen him several times: he didn't remember my issues, what he had prescribed, or even who I was. He spent the entire time looking at his computer.
The doctor spent the entire time looking at his computer.
Dr. Kaegi is understanding, kind and incredibly efficient.
He was professional and helped me get the medications I needed.
He was great - I will keep going to him in the future.
I was a little confused when, at the time I had scheduled my appointment for, someone else was brought into the office. Might be that he is not scheduling enough time for each appointment and that he was running late.
He asked many questions about myself and seemed very concerned about my wellbeing. He came recommended highly.
I have been going to Dr Kaegi for awhile and finally feel more balance in my life
Dr. Kaegi listened very well and he made a few jokes as well. I would definitely recommend.
Very kind and attentive doctor!!! Would reccommend him to all!
Was very personable and wanted to know about what my issues where and what the root causes were. Very great atmosphere
He is an open minded Doctor who listens to you
Very pleased !
It was perfect!
He is straight and to the point. Not afraid to tell you what he thinks, even if he knows you will not want to hear it.
It was a great visit, saw me on time, and would recommend him to anybody!!!
Hes a good guy and will do whatever he can to help you. Hes very accommodating to your specific needs, even if he doesn't know you very well yet.
I showed up for my appointment early and was seen right away.
Love dr kaegi! So friendly! I can't imagine going anywhere else.
I've been going to Dr. Kaegi for over 4 years. I've never had to wait for my appointment for more than 15 min. Dr. Kaegi is a kind person who immediately makes me feel comfortable during my appointments. I don't have a car being that I live in the city and take a 60 min round trip cab ride out to his office, and for me, it's worth it. I recommend Dr. Kaegi 100%!
I have been seeing this doctor for years.... wouldn't go to anyone else.
Dr. Kaegi is a great Dr. He's helped me so much. I'm very grateful to have him as my Dr. He listens very well to your needs and knows exactly how to treat you. Dr. Kaegi is not one to give you all kinds of pills that you don't need and I like that. I've seen many psychiatrist in my life time and he's by far the best one I've seen. And I will continue seeing him for as long as I need to.
Would not recommend this doctor at all. RUN!! The other comments made me feel alot better to know that I was not alone in feeling so bad after trying to get reasonable care. Statements like 'I don't care' in addition to no help provided make you feel helpless. There are good docs out there.. don't lose hope.
Excellent , I trust his plan always
It was nice. I liked the things we went over.
He listened to my concerns and was able to work on my medications. He is very thorough and reviews other medications that you are taking.
My visit was pleasant for a medicine review. Dr Kaegi was thoroughly representative of my medical review.
As per the usual, my visit with Dr. Kaegi was great. He is always very professional and helpful.
Worst doctor I ever had. I will never go to see him again. He has never asked any questions, and is more concerned about his paperwork and my cholesterol than my mental health. He served his purpose in writing my scripts, but I've found another, much better doctor, that actually says something to me, and is willing to give her opinion about medication changes. I never met someone so cold and standoffish, especially when I pay them money.
Dr. Kaegi is always thorough. I enjoy him as my doctor.
He listens, can't say I felt completely at ease talking about myself with him. He is professional and very knowledgeable in his field and I do think he diagnosed me properly however, so I guess that's important.
It went okay. Not very personable but good listener.
I was running late and luckily Dr. Kaegi waited for me, who does that these days? Not to many people.
Dr.Kaegi is a great doctor who listens and helps people with great care.
He really is a great psychiatrist. Very professional, polite, and timely. I would highly recommend him!
Friendly, kind, really listened and focused on my chemical reactive changes as I'm 1 year sober and off of all pain meds from major reconstructive back surgery. And he welcomed my puppy in for visit! (Training to be a service dog). Dr. Kaegi is so far the BEST Psychiatrist I've had thus far.
Always enjoy coming here and the quiet of the office and views are peaceful and relaxing.
I think the first visit went well, looking for more guidance from my psychologist on next steps
Love this Doctor
Dr Kaegi was very pleasant and appropriate. He asked all the right questions and gave me time to answer comfortably. He also prescribed the right medication that many other doctors never did. I am very greatful to Dr Kaegi.
Dr. Kaegi is very patient and understanding, and listened well to my concerns.
Dr. Kaegi did not treat me like a patient who needed help. Rather, he treated me like a paying customer. He did not listen to my problems nor seem to care. He ignored my medication requests and refused to prescribe more than one medication at time - which put me in a downward spiral because not all of my issues were being treated. He doesn't even look you in the eye during your appointment - he spends the whole time typing on his computer. I would not recommend Dr. Kaegi to anyone.
Dr Kaegi is a great listener. He has a special gift for helping the patient through the Dr-Patient process.
The doctor was very nice and provided the medication needed promptly.
I've been going to him for a couple of years now. He listens and asks what your thoughts are. Asks about the medication and how you really feel while using them. I'm doing SO MUCH better than I was a couple of years ago. Don't hesitate to go see him.
Dr Kaegi is a very good psychiatrist. He asked questions and listened well to my symptoms. He made a medication recommendation for me that my doctors over the past 10 years hadn't considered. It worked out well for me.
-Great, thorough visit.
He is an Great Dr. and understood my problems . I highly reccomend him.
Very professional and knowledgeable
Great listener, addressed my needs, asked pertinent questions, overall very satisfied with his services. Would highly recommend him.
Disengaged and unhelpful.
Well, this was just my first visit. Dr. Kaegi seemed to actually want to understand where I was coming from. His attention to detail in everything I was trying to explain helped me get better at explaining and understanding what im dealing with. I left his office feeling hopeful overall.
I am a psychiatrist with a masters in psychology - I work in marketing now. I got a bad feeing about him off the bat, but figured I would give it a chance. He was short, and had no sympathy or empathy in his voice. I struggle with anxiety and his tone and body language was not helping my first visit about my issue. My second visit, I waited 30 minutes and when he came out I kindly mentioned I had an appointment and he said i an 30 minutes behind. Another patient that was before me repainted and he backlashed at everyone demanding patience and that you could leave. So 3 of us left. Everyone has bad days, but it was an extreme reaction for a psychiatrist dealing with people.
He is very practical and logical. Explains well
If you are able to communicate your problems/symptoms, etc. Dr. Kaegi will be able to help you. He strictly specializes in med management, so he is more clinical and to the point. Find a psychologist if you are looking for traditional therapy.
Booked my first appointment as a new patient completely through ZocDoc, and even pre-filed my new patient registration forms through ZocDoc, with great success. I was a bit nervous as I have never scheduled an appointment this way, especially one where I was switching to a new doctor (due to a relocation), but even though I didn't not interact with anyone directly in order to set up the appointment, Dr. Kaegi was fully expecting me and up to speed with my situation from the information I provided online. I appreciated this quite a bit.
Very calming doctor. Knows his subjects. Great treatment options.
Although Dr. Kaegi is not a very expressive man, he is an excellent doctor.
He was really nice and professional as always.
I've seen Dr. Kaegi several times now, and he is wonderful. He's straight and to-the-point while still being thorough. He has definitely met my needs - I highly recommend him!
He is very helpful and considerate.
Dr kaegi was amazing. Just want I needed. He's smart and doesn't seem judgemental; rather, he listens and confirms what you may already know to be your challenge. He doesn't remind me of a therapist who has you lie on a couch and tell your troubles to. He is there to solve what he can with helping your body chemistry find balance. And he has a little humor and kindness as well. Kaegi was perfect for me but he might not be for everyone. He was so helpful and explains what's what and gets you what you need and on your way. Marry me kaegi.
Short and to the point, not really a talker but it's good to be serious I guess.
-Great experience working with Dr. Kaegi
So far he has been really understanding with my needs. Very helpful and willing to try different things for the best results.
Dr. Kaegi is knowledge about medication for psychiatric conditions. He is a good listener, and an expert in his field. Dr. Kaegi does strictly medication management, not therapy. The follow up appointments are quick, about 15 mins. or so. I had to get in my questions quickly at the end because he has a jam packed schedule. I like that he has Saturday appointments. His office is conveintly located off of the expressway.
Best doctor and office ever.
Wonderful doctor, highly recommend Dr. Kaegi to anyone in the Chicago/Northwest side looking for psychiatrist.
Very prompt and had full understanding of my needs and treatments.
Very professional and kind will be seeing him again!
The doctor was very knowledgeable and professional..
He listened to me. He gave me a response, though not the one I had hoped for; however, he made his position understood.
Love Dr. Kaegi. Gets to the point of the visit. Very understanding & what's more very sympathetic as to the needs of the patient. I would rate him an EXCELLENT DOCTOR and would I recommend him- Yes! I have..
He doesn't ask unnecessary questions and keeps our visits quick and efficient. Exactly what I need! Thanks doc
Dr. Kaegi is very fair. He's practical, almost a dry sense of humor. I'm not so sure he really likes his job. Spends most of the time behind his computer writing notes instead of looking at you face to face. That being said, he's very honest and smart. Would recommend if you are in a bind and need treatment ASAP as he's easy to book and always runs on time.
Dr. Kaegi is awesome. He carefully listens to me and makes sure I have a lot of input in my care. I will say it's a good idea to do some research and ask questions. Dr. Kaegi is always happy to answer questions, but it also pays to have an idea of what your treatment plan is and could be.
He is very professional.
He was very nice and polite. Highly recommended!
Found it very helpful but went better when I engaged him in conversation.
Straight and to the point! I had a great experience visiting Dr. Kaegi for a second opinion on my diagnosis and well as medication management, although I would recommend other mental health practitioners for talk therapy. However, I chose this psychiatrist for medication therapy based primarily on years of practice, education, and work experience. My priority was someone with a solid track record, and I appreciated that Dr. Kaegi had good credentials as well as a no-nonsense approach to boot.
He mostly just stares at his computer screen as he asks you questions about the last medication he gave you. He doesn't seem very interested in hearing about your experience on the medication, just if it worked for what you believe it should work for, or not. If not, then he presents you with a new list of options for medications and lets you choose, based on their benefits and risks. It's a little frustrating, as you sort of just feel like you're constantly taking a stab in the dark, and with someone who is not particularly engaged in your success or failure.
Patient specifics are ignored in favor of relying on general catch-all diagnoses. Questions to patient are superficial, and are not meant to ascertain a personalized diagnoses. Expect to be pigeon holed, handed a prescription, and shuffled out the door. The main purpose of this doctor is to obtain medication for a pre-diagnosed illness. If you have specific questions about your illness or are seeking a diagnoses for what may be a new illness, it would be better to consult another doctor. This doctor just writes prescriptions.
He was your typical psychiatrist but if you need any paperwork filed out (from your job that supplies the insurance that he's getting paid thru) he doesn't do that. He just writes prescription's.
Very precise. Fast appointment with this psychiatrist expert in medication therapy.
Straightforward. Great doctor. Listens and makes diagnosis. Explains everything.
My appointment was awesome per usual
He was helpful. I felt empowered.
He is great, very easy to talk to which makes going very easy and not stressful
*Listened well. *Organized *Very Knowledgeable about pharmacological interactions (by far the most important criterion) *Scientifically based decisions, rather than driven by political propaganda or pharmaceutical bribery.
My appointment was at 1 pm. When I arrived At 1, I walked into the doctors office & unfortunately another patient was with him. The doctor came into the waiting room about 5 minutes later and asked if he could help me. I said I had a 1 O'clock. He asked w/whom & I said him. He seemed surprised. He asked me to fill out forms that I had already filled out on line. I finally went in to his office at 1:20 he couldn't find the forms online, thought they were lost when his office cancelled my first appt. I think this office is not well trained on Zoc Doc
Dr. Kaegi is always receptive to my needs and listens to my input.
He is a good doctor
Listens to what I say Answers my questions in a concise manner. Reviews all the prescription drugs that I am taking. Easy to make an appointment.
Very unfriendly demeanor, not really any talk therapy. Have had several appointments and then suddenly I was no longer able to book with him- which is not very reliable.
It was thorough and to the point asking me relevant questions.
Dr Kaegi is very easy to speak with and a great doctor! I will continue to see him!!!
Right on time, kind and thorough, patient, and seems very knowledgeable. Looking forward to my follow-up.
It's always a nice experience.
Since I was not there for any major checkup, just a wellness check, and a prescription, things went very quickly. Dr. Kaegi and I have a good rapport, and for anyone needing the same service I get, I would highly recommend him.
been going to dr kaegi for awhile. he is very knowledgeable and attentive to your treatment. professional environment for visits. easy to book online and appts are always on time.
Gotta love this man and his work. Always super fast and friendly. Best Psych I've ever been to.
The doctor hardly made eye contact and was so "short and to the point" that it made the experience very unpleasant. It was almost as if he was reading questions from a script, and I felt as though he did not at all care what I was there for. I have a bad history with medications, so I was very skeptical about starting a new one. I understand that psychiatrists are not meant to be therapists, but he was almost robotic. I took the pills I was given and found a new doctor.
He is excellent at asking the correct questions to get at the diagnosis. He is very clinical, straight-forward with a very dry personality. This works very well for me, possibly not for others, though. He doesn't over prescribe medications, which to me is another sign of a smart and thoughtful physician.
Told me that I didn't seem depressed when he saw me...after he heard my symptoms he said maybe. I've never had a doctor diagnose me before I was even given the chance to speak.
After waiting approximately 30-45 minutes for my appointment, Dr Kaegi eventually called me into his office. Since this was my first visit with him, I assumed the visit would last a tad longer than normal which I had no objections to. What I did object to was his pompous demeanor the second he began typing on his keyboard while asking about my medical history. His office is in a very posh neighborhood in Chicago and by his condescending dialogue with me, I could tell this specific doctor would not be conducive in regard to my health care. He berated every suggestion regarding my ailments. Suggestions that I heard from past doctors. He totally took me off the medication that I had been on for three years and somewhat worked, only to recommend medications with the fancy brochures that the pharmaceutical reps kindly drop off once a month to his office. My ex is a nurse so I know exactly how that scam works. He never made me feel welcomed and relaxed as a new patient. His choices of medication are the ones with pamphlets that overflow his lobby. Not interesting in helping the patient, just interested in meeting the quotas of the drug reps. It was obvious I did not belong there. I will let him get back to his business owning, politically affiliated, affluent patients that he is more accustomed to working with. Thanks for listening.
A bit gruff in his manner, but he seems to know his stuff.
Dr. Kaegi was the first psychiatrist I have been to see, and I was rather nervous about the whole experience. However, when I came in (exactly on-time), he was very professional and polite and put me at ease. He also took the time to answer all my questions and gave me several options to find one that I felt most comfortable with. I highly recommend him and think he is an excellent doctor!
Dr. Kaegi is patient and knowledgable
I've had a great experience seeing Dr. Kaegi today. Enjoyed the convenience of scheduling appointments online as well as online registration. I was seen on time and received very proffesional service. Doctor was very direct, informative and seemed caring. I did not get a bunch questioner forms nor gotten diagnosed after a few minute conversation, which I've experienced everywhere else. I can easily say that it was the best doctor visit ive had in my entire life. Two thumbs up!
Great for diagnosing and medication. But not so great for talk therapy. That being said, I do see a therapist regularly and he knows that so he may just focus on medication with me. Perhaps with other clients he's more talkative.
All my visits are perfect. 5 stars all the way.
You've got to be kidding me. Almost 5 stars for such an inconsiderate doctor. He NEVER got back to me with emergency situations. NEVER cared for my heath or well being. It makes me sick to think about someone in such a high profession to be so ignorant and a blatant a**hole. Thanks "Dr" Kaegi. I will NOT be coming back.
Dr. Kaegi really helped me out over the year or 18 months I was in treatment. I am moving away and not looking forward to looking for a new psychiatrist, because Dr. Kaegi really set the bar high! Thanks!
He's a great doctor, been with him for a few years now and he has always been very thorough and always professional. Always takes me in rite away and he is a great listener.
The Doctors manners and methods were clear and concise and i am thankful for that.
THANK YOU FOR THE VISIT AND I'VE MADE A APPOINTMENT WITH A THERAPIST. THANK YOU
He listened well and gave me the options of medication while he explained side effect thoroughly . He is a very personable. I would recommend the dr. To any one.
Dr. Kaegi has an easy-going style that I appreciate. He is extremely knowledgeable about best practices in the treatment of depression. He doesn't just throw pills at you but is very thoughtful about the best course of treatment and conscientious about co-occurring medical conditions that should be taken into account. It is easy to get an appointment with him and there is convenient parking!
I think that he is completely unprofessional. The doctor prescribed me medication to help with a sleeping issue I was having and then completely took me off of the medication without a formal plan to find alternative treatment. Simply denied the request from the pharmacy and refused to answer any calls or emails inquiring why this decision wasn't jointly made WITH the patients consent and agreement. Absolutely unprofessional and unethical.
I have been seeing Dr. Kaegi for 20 years, you never have to wait long and he is very easy to talk to. A really great doctor.
Wonderful Doctor. Always right on time and works with me to manage my prescribed plan. He actually takes the time to talk to me and addresses my concerns and questions thoroughly.
I felt very comfortable. He explained everything very informative. He also was able to give me a referral for a therapist.
Good man. He gets right to the point. Has helped me tremendously! My quality of life has greatly improved since becoming a patient of his.
I like Dr. Kaegi. He is efficient, professional and genuine.
No need to wait a month and a half to see him, his schedule is great! He listens intently to your concerns and what you have to say, and obtains a thorough background during the first meeting. He is also very knowledgeable and gives all the info on medications that you may need. Having seen a few different psychiatrist in my life, Dr. Kaegi is by far my favorite. Great doc.
This man had to stop and ask me to repeat myself several times because he simply hadn't been listening. It got worse from there. After a LENGTHY review of certain aspects of my history, while glossing over others, he told me that he did not understand my diagnosis (you're the doctor, you tell me, no?). He would not refill the antidepressent prescription I have been taking for 3 years... Leaving me with 3 days to seek another appt with someone more professional and compassionate. This man was horrible in every respect and completely wasted my time while also insulting me in theost hurtful manner. How dare you blatantly reject to help/treat a patient in obvious distress without offering any sort of referral or more appropriate treatment options. Telling someone their condition is flat out untreatable is just negligent! Don't waste your time with this quack.
Each experience with Dr. Kaegi has been a good one. Highly recommended.
Your Promptness and having a list of your symptoms helps Dr. Kaegi
I was very pleased with the service I received. Doctor Kaegi, is professional and he does listen to what you tell him. I'm very happy and I will continue to him for treatment. Thankfully Ana.
Dr. Karin was personable attentive and thorough. I would recommend him.
The visit was comfortable, professional, and most of all helpful. I only wish I had done this a year ago. First time in my life I am excited about scheduling a follow up appointment.
Very understanding highly recommended
I liked that he didn't make a decision right away. He will take he's time to investigate what The patient needs.
Dr. Kaegi is warm, professional, and thorough. He was on the list of psychiatrist referrals given to me by my previous doctor when he took a job out of state. Dr. Kaegi asks enough questions to ensure that he is treating me properly, but also trust that I've been on this med for years, that I'm adult, and that I'm responsible for my own mental health. I'm thrilled with the medication consultation and supervision I'm getting from him.
The doctor spends most of time looking at the computer taking notes. However, in the past he hasn't review his notes before I arrived. As a result, on my 3rd visit he didn't remember me or any of our previous discussions. While my previous visits didn't feel rushed in anyway and were at the time stated, my 3rd visit he was 10 minutes late for an appointment that was scheduled to last for 15 minutes. I would describe my experiences with him so far as adequate.
Very impersonal, basically took a quick medical history and recommended other therapists within my network. Did not make eye contact once during the visit.
Listened to my concerns
No wait. Listened to everything I had to stay and started helping me right away.
He's a great doctor and an excellent person
Very thorough, timely & helpful. I highly recommend dr k.
great as always.
He's not deeply sympathetic or overly emotional if you are looking for that, but he is reassuringly competent and not dictatorial about medication.
Dr. Kaegi saved my life on many occasions. He was always available and listened very well. He is one of the kindest people I have ever met. Always on time. It's doctors like he that give hope to those whom have lost their way.
Very happy with Dr. Kaegi. My recent improvement in approaching a condition I have been afflicted with most of my life is mostly due to his honesty and expertise. He is very professional and objective while being just approachable enough. I would not hesitate to recommend him.
He's very straightforward, down to the point. Be sure to bring a paper of all your symptoms so he can give you the best medicine possible. I forget symptoms sometimes, but not today! He was very helpful.
He was very reassuring and calming and professional.
Only my second visit to Dr. Kaegi, but both appointments were right on time and he is very easy to talk to. He also takes all precautions to ensure that any medication provided is working well and not having harmful side effects.
I've been a patient of Dr. Kaegi's for many years. He's easy to talk to and very professional.
very good as usual, my mother and I have seeing Dr. Kaegi for over fifteen years.
Dr. Kaegi is very efficient and kind. He gets down to business and you will often be in an out of the office in 15 minutes!
He is a great doctor! Never wastes any time in the office! Very professional!
Always well taken care of!
It went very well.
Very straight forward and efficient. Listened to my concerns and was eager to improve my condition. Excellent in making me feel at ease. I plan on visiting again in the future.
He is excellent dr. He is my doctor for more than 10 years and I'd like him very much.
I went to see Dr Kaegi because it was a requirement to see for insurance purposes. He would not follow up with insurance, charged extra for completing paperwork requested from insurance. During one visit was told I could see another Dr if not satisfied with him. Wish I would have
He's very calm listened to what you have to say and very helpful.
Extremely professional, well educated, and helpful doctor
Really impersonal. Doesn't seem to care about you. Office is old and musty and the entire thing was uncomfortable
I have been seeing this doctor for over two years. He does not remember me each time I come to the office. How can I get proper help from someone who does not know who I am or what my issues are. Very impersonal uncaring experience. I do not recommend this doctor for anyone unless you are looking to pick from a list of medications that are available. How should I know what medication I should be taking?
I found myself frequently waiting and being on their time. I had to travel quite a bit everytime to make these appointments for the past 6 months or so, so it wasn’t a great feeling. I will be transferring to a new doctor now.
Dr. Kaegi is very professional. I can always get an appointment and never have to wait long.
Very nice and professional. Sessions are as intensive as you need as he cares about his patients.
I wish he would look up things he doesn't know.
always impressed by the dr he is in tune with what i require and always knows what i need.
He empowers the patient to make decisions. That is very good for me. He asked if I needed other services, which he would refer me to. I didn't need any additional services, but it is good to know they are available. Again, I felt empowered, I was knowledgeable about what I needed, so this is a great situation for me. This is the 2nd time I have visited Dr. Kaegi.
Dr. Kaegi is very knowledgeable and collaborative interactive style,
It is nice to deal with a doctor that understands your lack of desire to be challenged with quandaries of "alternative" options, just because he believes that under his supervision, you have much more chances for the positive result. After having to deal with professionals that failed to understand that you would not be standing in front of them, if you could handle already existing challenges, it was very nice to simply be heard and understood.
Very professional, cordial and overall good guy. Appts easy to make and he is always on time. Recommend highly.
very helpful & professional. no wait
He is always very helpful
Courteous, professional and to the point. Also, genuine, friendly and empathetic to the purpose of my visit.
Quick & to the point.
He was very informative and to the point. He is not someone that will dwell on emotions or show much emotion at all, but he was still super helpful and getting me the answers I needed. I definitely recommend him if you're looking for a no frills, honest, to the point doctor.
This was my first visit and I was surprised at how thorough he was about investigating my current prescription regimen which is unorthodox, but has generally worked well for me over 8 years. Four years ago, after trying one new drug and having it backfire spectacularly, I went through an internse period of trial and error and have now stabilized pretty well with the regimen I have. I expect a clinician to be wary if someone he doesn't know comes in and asks for two separate prescriptions for controlled substances, one highly addicitive. He gave the prescriptions only after a long discussion, checks of my pharmacy records and a requirement that he have full info and permissions to contact my previous psychiatrist, therapist, and two MDs. Very impressed.
Very professional. Good communicator
i always recommend Dr Kaegi to friends and family. He is so kind
Very helpful in my initial diagnosis and worked with me on fine tuning my medication so that I feel comfortable now. My quality of life seems to be better now than before seeing the DR.
Dr. Kaegi was entirely professional. Although my condition did not warrant medication, he provided advice on the kind of help I should seek.
it went very well
Very professional and knowledgeable. Came up with a plan and couple of suggested changes he asked me to think about. Also expressed a desire to consult with my cardiologist about a medication I've been on for awhile. I felt confident that he was sincerely interested in helping me feel my best..
Dr. Kaegi is the one Psychiatrist I like in Chicago. If you're looking for a doctor that can work with young adults Dr. Kaegi is the one you're looking for. 10/10 so far.
Kind, welcoming, and professional.
Very helpful! Thank you!
He is honest and straightforward. I think he is a very good listener. He types out what you say. I think his office puts you at ease as he listens without judgment and makes no commentary. I feel comfortable. He also answers your questions, which I think is helpful.
I view Dr. Kaegi as a consultant for my needs, vs one who does it all. He listened to my 'story" and made appropriate recommendations. He offered a counseling referral and we discussed medication. I felt empowered to do as much or as little as I wanted. This may not be for everyone, but it was just what I needed. He does type notes along the way, as I have read in other reviews, and that did not bother me. It was very much like the relationship I have with my primary care physician.
Even as he was very efficient and focused, he spent over a half-hour with me, asking detailed questions and kept the discussion relevant. I did not expect any form of talk therapy so I thought his approach was appropriate. As this was my initial visit, he did input his notes into his computer, as I would expect. His follow-up was immediate and I picked up my prescription shortly thereafter. Mission accomplished.
He id a great doctor who is willing to work with patients. He explains reasons for his actions or diagnoses and accounts for the patient's wishes when offering treatment. Overall he is a great doctor.
He was very prompt, but did not give great advice. All of his answers to my questions were, "It depends, I can tell you the answer." And he was staring at his computer the entire meeting, never making eye contact. Seemed as though he didn't really care about what I was saying.
Very good doctor and always listens to my input!
I've never heard a doctor tell a patient "I don't care" so many times. He's one of the worst physicians I've ever seen, although his indifference does afford me a higher degree of autonomy with regards to my course of treatment. I'm confident you could get just about anything you want since--he's not kidding--he doesn't care. However, some guidance would be helpful.
Great! Just the type of dr I needed
Dr. Kaegi is awesome.
he needs to engage way more with his patients, he's too clinical
Very impersonal. Focuses more on the computer than the patient. Did not make me feel comfortable at all. Went 3 times, then changed providers.
It went well.
Although it seems appointments are rather short Dr. Kaegi does a good job of listening to patient concerns, assessing the patient's treatment history, and making useful recommendations. Dr. Kaegi is pleasant to work with.
Extremely attentive, listens & cares about your current health and your future health. Finally found the perfect MD!
I'm very satisfied with the health care I receive & your services. Thank You.
Dr. Kaegi is a very kind doctor and is ma very comfortable with this Doctor my first visit was very welcoming. I hope to stay Dr. Kaegi's client, for he is a wonderful Doctor.
I'm not sure if it's just me or he does this with other patients, but the whole time I was talking he literally stared at his computer and typed, not looking at me at all. To me, it's important to make eye contact and at least fake compassion. None of that here. Then he basically asked me to diagnose myself. I went 3 times, all the same. I'm since switched to a psychiatrist I know and trust, who actually interacts with ME, not their computer screen.
This doctor was awful. He did not smile once or say a kind or understanding word to me. Absolutely the worst.
I have seen many psychiatrists over the past 30 years. Dr. Kaegi ranks at the bottom 10%. He shows zero compassion. For example, when I broke down in tears, he just kept looking at his computer screen. He shows little patience, too. When I asked him for a clearer explanation of my diagnosis and medications, he gave curt answers in an impatient tone. Even though I had been to his office a few times, he couldn't even get my name right: he called me Jennifer (my name is Ginger).
Sometimes going to a specialist can be accompanied with a sense of anxiety, but Dr. Kaegi is the most personable and puts all senses at ease. Very easy to talk to as man to man. Recommended to my closest.
Kind and professional. Helpful and thorough.
Was attentive and concerned. Will definitely make him my regular
He was rude and unprofessional. He spent all his time looking at his computer screen and not at me. He had absolutely no empathy! He asked me to repeat myself 3 times after quite a few questions. When I asked for him to focus on the present, he said I could get another doctor. I was so upset when I left his office, I would never go back. As far as I'm concerned, he shouldn't be practicing!
Dr,Kaegi prefers direct facts and answers to idol chit-chat.
I was early but he still saw me almost right away. Great experience!
I came late 30 minutes but still Dr. Kaegi found time for me between his pantients. Compasionate, caring and to the point.
Great and a pleasant experience
You don't waste your time going there, he's fast and very understanding. I love it!! Been going to Dr. Charles Kargi for over a year and never had a complaint about him. He's very straight forward. I recommend it. 100%
I was nervous to see a psychiatrist for the first time but Dr. Kaegi put me at ease immediately. He is very informative and let me have input into my treatment instead of just pushing medication on me. My day-to-day has drastically improved under his care, and I am very grateful.
Thoughtful calm physician. Helpful. Knowledgeable.
Appts are short, but he uses the time very effectively...direct and to the point...listens very well and considerate of patients' concerns.
Not very personable. Has a tendency to always look at his computer and not make much eye contact with the patient.
He is very professional and tells you exactly what you need to know. He doesn't leave everything open and wishy washy - maybe this maybe that. I enjoyed my consultation and felt very respected. He does a great job listening to you, quickly recognizing what it wrong and helping to fix it. I will certainly continue to see him and also recommend him if need be.
My initial consult with Dr. Kaegi went wll and I was impressed with his "bedside manner". After the initial consultation, it was impossible to get ahold of Dr. Kaegi and he is exremely unresponsive. The only way he resonds to communication is through email and then it is with a one or two word response. I would never recommend this Dr. to anyone.
Calm, thorough, professional. A painless doctor's office.
Wouldn't go to any other psychiatrist.
Dr. Kaegi is meticulous in his assessment, and thoughtful in his questioning.
Dr. Kaegi has a amazing bedside manner! He takes the time to listen, takes my blood pressure, weight, and shows concern not only for my mental state but also my medical conditions and how they effect my mood. Highly recommended!
Dr Kaegi was very thorough. My appointment was to get a refill on medicine but Dr Kaegi was thorough and extremely considerate. He has a very caring style and I'd recommend him to anyone.
I highly recommend him to others he is great
He's been able to help me with my case. He's great doctor highly recommended him to others
Dr. Kaegi is a great psychiatrist. He listened to me, and made it feel like a collaborative effort to create a treatment plan.
Very kind, helpful and professional.
Visit was great. No waiting.!
Very understanding the problem.
Professional and thorough.
Dr. Kaegi is an excellent psychiatrist. He is efficient, helpful, and has outstanding communication skills. I recommend him highly.
Although Dr. Kaegi is not the most nurturing doctor, he is an expert in his field and I trust his medical advice.
I have been seeing Dr. Kaegi for over 10 years and have always received excellent care.
He's efficient, quick, straight forward, and to the point. He's friendly but not overly talkative which is exactly what I was looking for.
Dr. Kaegi is a Godsend. The man made my quality of life better. I went to him for major depression. He knows his meds and works with you to find the best fit.
It was my first time visiting a psychiatrist, so I was a little apprehensive, but I couldn't have asked for a better visit. Dr. Kaegi was understanding, laid back, and to the point -- all qualities I appreciated. Would definitely reccommend.
he was very judgmental, I would never recommend him to any patient. I felt so horrible leaving his office.
It was a good first appointment but I have side effect concerns that have not yet been addressed.
Very efficient and knowledgeable. Listened to what I wanted out of my appointment and is willing to work with me. Highly recommend Dr. Kaegi, he is extremely efficient.
Issues and concerns were addressed immediately, very professional and to the point. I would recommend him to family and friends.
He is the best at his profession he's always caring and attentive I highly recommend him to anyone.
Dr. Kaegi has a calm manner and friendliness to him. This makes it easy to discuss anything as needed. He is careful about diagnosing medicine that may not work with other health concerns. He is easy to work with for your problems and concerns. The building and office are very accessible from 94 for patient who must travel to visit him. I would highly recommend him as a doctor.
When I first started seeing Dr. Kaegi he was great. Really tried to help and each time I've gone back it's been like I'm bothering him. The last time I was there, he was very condescending and actually laughed at me while I was trying to answer his questions. I lost my job 5 weeks ago and emailed him to ask how I could ween off my meds since I wouldn't have insurance to get refills and he wrote me back and told me GET OTHER INSURANCE. So today I emailed him to ask if he took my new insurance and in all caps he just writes one word - NO. So he's left a depressed, bi-polar patient to fend for herself without any advice how to get off the meds that he prescribed or a referral to someone who does take my insurance that can help me since he cannot.
My mother and I have been visiting Dr. Kaegi for approximately sixteen years, our visits have always been productive, and we hope to continue in future.
Dr keigi implied to me that I was abusing my medication which is not the case, simply because I saw another doctor who filled a prescription for me after I saw him. I did not refill any anxiety prescriptions for quite some time after that. I simply wanted to see another doctor who may be able to prescribe a better medication that would help me more. Going back to see him I get accused of using him to get more pills. I'm not bothered by the fact that he refused to give me any change in medication, but because he implied that I'm a drug addict seeking drugs. I will not be seeing this doctor again. I am offended and feel like my concerns regarding my medication was dismissed simply due to his distrust of his patients. And for the record I didn't ask for any refills on the medications I'm already on, I simply came because my primary care doctor voiced a concern that I should see a specialist rather than him. I told him about the issues going on in my life only to be accused of seeking drugs. For someone like me who already gets anxious about seeing someone like this, an experience such as this makes me upset and offended.
He has been very helpful and perceptive.
He is a good person and a great doctor.
It was fine, he's very efficient.
I went to him Dr Kaegi after seeing another Dr that was assigned to me in a hospital. I felt she didn't accurately diagnose me. I went to him for a second opinion and he altered medication to a point where I was stable. He was always there to answer questions. Made appointment for me easily and was supportive with the medication aspect. He is not a counselor and may give some suggestions but not the same as going to a councilor. I actually went to a psychologist in his building and combined it helped me out a lot. I was living at home just recently diagnosed and now I am living on my own just bought my own place and really have him to thank for getting me going in the right direction for my medical needs, I haven't been to the hospital since and relocated so I no longer go to him. I have not been able to find so,embody of similar quality in other cities,
I understand that Dr's can't always be see you on time, but Dr. Kaegi's behavior when he nonchalantly admitted me to his office 20 minutes late was frustrating and condescending at best. Rather than apologizing, he tried to contest me that my scheduled time was later than it was, and eventually looked it up and realized that I was correct. If you're going to offer tight appointment times, please keep with them and don't treat your patient poorly because they followed directions. Beyond that, Dr. Kaegi is fairly removed, and cuts to the chase. He seems barely interested in any specifics and just asks some questions, never looking at you and always typing away and staring at his computer.
The doctor had no idea who I was when I showed up for the appointment I had scheduled days in advance, and rather than greeting me as a person might he simply asked, "who are you?" I understand that there is a certain level of detachment to be expected from a person in his line of work, however, to treat your patients, particularly the new ones, with total disregard is less than helpful. He also seemed to be tailoring my responses to questions in such a way as to make them appear neater on paper than they actually are, which to some extent is necessary I'm sure, however, it gave me the impression that he simply didn't care, or was outright belittling the importance of something that was of actual concern to me. My experience led me to believe other, more positive reviews posted to be fraudulent.
Great doctor. I came in with some concerns about my current medication and he took the time to walk me through what options he recommended based on my needs. Very thorough and professional.
Friendly, relaxed but appropriately professional manner; provided several pharmaceutical options with plain spoken advice about side effects and particular efficacy (e.g. mood vs. energy).
Great MD. Very understanding.
He is nice , very attentive and don't waste any time.
Very fast and efficient physician. I have yet to wait in the waiting room for more than a few minutes past my scheduled appointment time.
Very nice doctor and he did not make me feel uncomfortable what's so ever
I definitely would recommended Dr. Kaegi to everyone!!!
Due to work travel and a hectic schedule, it can be difficult to maintain a health regimen. Dr. Kaegi's assistance has helped me, navigate my way to a more organized life. Thank you.
Very professional and tries to pin point what's bothering you
Was good and quick, like usual!
He was very thorough and answered all of my numerous questions to my satisfaction. I felt much better just from the meeting.
Dr. Kaegi is great. Has everything at his fingertips, asks relevant questions and is alwys on time.
Patient, polite and respectful
Great was very thorough
Loved it, found a diagnosis for some of my symptoms!
He did a fine job. He's just not what I'm looking for. Apparently, I need a couselor and not a pshychiatrist. So, off I go in search.
I was a first time patient and Dr. Kaegi was great!! He seemed to truely care about what i was saying and even emailed me additional info on my medication within an hour of my appt. Great doctor!!!
His great. I was very happy with his service. I would definitely recommen Doctor Kaegi. Thank You.

Been with him for many years would never change
Was a great visit! Quick and helpful!
He's an excellent Doctor.
Great experience. Quick and to the point.
Great doctor. Very easy to speak to.
He's very professional and knowledgable,
Knowledgeable, good listener, provided answers to my questions, conservative with medications (which is a good thing).
Honest, straightforward, professional
