In my experience, Dr. Silvera is a very thorough, careful, and thoughtful doctor that will listen to your concerns and work diligently to try to find solutions.

I've been seeing Dr. Silvera for nearly 20 years and today's visit was as thorough and seamless as they come. COVID protocols are well established and adhered to (including temperature checks in the lobby); the staff friendly and accommodating.
Verified patient
Dr. Slivera treated me like family, he answered all my questions and made sure I understood everything clearly. He takes time to listen to his patients.
He was very direct which is important when dealing with your health. He gave great advice, gave me a full check and am awaiting results now. I am happy to have him as a healthcare provider.
Verified patient
Really is the best doctor I've ever seen.
Verified patient
Dr. Silvera is an excellent doctor. He was referred to me by my best friend and he is now our family doctor. The office is also conveniently located to a variety of train stations.

With all due respect, Dr. Silvera is a horrible doctor. I went in for an appointment when I was having horrible stomach pain last year. He was very impatient and dismissive when I was describing my symptoms. He repeatedly cut me off while I was talking, and told me that what I was feeling was not real. For the short 10-15 min that I was in his office, he treated me like an idiot, until towards the end of our conversation when he found out that I was a PhD student. He clearly had a complete 180. Only during the last 5 min of our session was I treated like an intelligent grown-up. Not only was Dr. Silvera not understanding to a patient who was already feeling vulnerable because of her health, he was also extremely rude for not listening to the patient and only diagnosing based on his own presumption and training. I can only hope that racial profiling and sexism did not play any role in our interaction. I would never go back to him again.
Dr. Silvera was harsh, rude, and clearly planned to spend no time on my case. When I walked into his office it was clear he was upset about a conversation he had with the employee currently in his office. He threw is pen on his desk and proceeded to take his anger out on me by being short and acting like seeing a patient was the last thing he wanted to do. I had my blood work done and he said it would take maybe five days until they got the results. Three weeks later and I will be calling the office to check up and have them sent to me. I will NOT be going back to him.
Went for my annual physical. Dr Silvera was, as usual, thorough. He, as always, is personable and caring. Sort of a novelty these days. He also administered my first colonoscopy. Soothed my frail nerves :). One of the great docs. BTW, staff is incredibly professional.
Verified patient
Dr. Silvera was excellent, took my nerves in stride and was very concerned about my getting the proper referral to a specialist when it turned out one was required. Would recommend.
Do yourself a favor and see a different doctor- there are so many in NYC who will treat you better than this man. Dr. Silvera was very rude during my appointment. He seemed like he was in a rush and was extremely impatient. When describing my symptoms, he brushed off many as if they were insignificant. I went to a different doctor who cared to take the time listening to my problems, and prescribed me medication that is now making me feel much better!
Doctor answered all questions. Covered all issues. Told me what's going on and didn't waist any minute. When I asked how often I supposed to see him, he answered when you have a pain (not like others-every 3-6 months) Highly recommend.
Verified patient
Dr Silvera is genuinely amazing. He's Honest, thorough and professional. He's been my dr for thirty years And has remained devoted and loyal throughout his career. . I can't think of s better medical expert that has the total interest of the patient in mind.

Dude got right down to business but wasn't rude or anything, just efficient. Felt confident that he knew what he was doing. He explained things effectively. Got in and out in no time. Highly Recommend.
Verified patient
Very nice and listens to me and my concerns

I have seen Dr. Silvera before, but not for the specific procedure I had this time. His office and then exam room manner was excellent. His description of the procedure was thorough; he asked if I had any questions or concerns; and when I asked a couple of questions, his responses were serious and satisfying, putting me completely at ease. The procedure went smoothly. There was a slight hiccup (due to me), and Dr. S addressed the issue quickly and with concern. Today (the next day), I feel fine and I have no discomfort at all.
The weather was terrible and I was running late. Dr. SIlvera's office was still able to accomodate me in a quick and efficient manner. Well done!
As I was checking in for my 9am appointment, I heard several men in suits ask for Dr Silvera and say that he was expecting them. I wonder then why they allowed me to schedule the appointment for the same time he was expecting them? At 9:15, a nurse told me that he had an "unexpected" meeting, which I know isn't true, and she wasn't sure when he'd be available. I had purposefully scheduled an early appointment so that I would be on time for work, but I didn't actually get to see him until 9:30. Luckily, I only spent 5 minutes with him, so I was not late. That included the time it took for him to review my file (he was clearly not prepared) and write me a new prescription. He told me to come back every year, but it seems like a waste of my money if all I know nothing has changed and all I need is a script.
Although he lacks in bedside manner a bit, he is very good in terms of approaching medical issues. He is not one of those DRs that are eager to rush into expensive unnecessary invasive procedures, before exploring all other less invasive alternatives first.
He is a wonderful doctor!

My visit was handled perfectly. He was thorough, asked the right questions, knowledgeable, and passionate about helping my situation. Can't say enough good things about this doctor and his practice.
Verified patient
Thoroughly satisfactory.
This doctor was abrasive during my appointment while never following up with me since my exam and blood work. Would not recommend.
